iPhone 3GS Still A Great Seller When Compared To The Android

The iPhone 3GS has been available for nearly two years now and according to reports it is still a great seller especially when compared to the Android phone. In fact, the iPhone 3GS is still outselling some of the new Android handsets.
Statistics from Cannacord Genuity’s Michael Walkley showed that both the iPhone 3GS and the original iPad are currently outselling a lot of the newer competition. After looking at both the AT&T and Verizon sales for the month of April it was clear that the iPhone 3GS was still a strong seller for AT&T and with it’s $49 price tag it actually outsold the HTC Inspire and the Motorola Atrix. Verizon’s iPad sales showed that the first generation in this device sold out in less than two weeks in both the 16GB and 32BG models.
What these statistics show is that even though the Android is growing it is actually taking market share away from the Windows Phone 7 and the BlackBerry more so than that iPhone and checks with stores also found this to be true. The iPhone is expected to remain the number one selling handset at Verizon for 2011.
Walkley’s report also showed that that iPad was by far the highest selling tablet with RIM’s PlayBook and Motorola’s Xoom seeing only modest sales. It really does go to show that even though there is competition Apple’s idevices seem to be the most popular choice in the consumer market today. What do you think, would Apple be your choice?
