Apple launches the iOS 4.3 that features a news ASLR security which causes some problem to Ultrasn0w unlockers. Then, just last week, the iPhone maker rolled out the iOS 4.3.1 software update to fix various bugs and the jailbreak exploit on iPad 2. But fortunately, iPhone hacker DjayB6 has released a new PwnageTool bundle to jailbreak iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running on iOS 4.3.1 using the PwnageTool 4.2 that was developed by the iPhone Dev Team especially for Mac OS X users.
So if you want to unlock your iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.3.1, you should jailbreak it first using the PwnageTool 4.2 with PwnageTool bundles 4.3.1 by following the step-by-step guide posted here. Then once jailbroken, you can follow the Ultrasn0w step-by-step guide posted below:
Install Ultrasn0w 1.2 On jailbroken iPhone 3GS On iOS 4.3.1
Step 1: Launch Cydia application on your jailbroken iPhone, then sect “manage” and click on “Sources”.
Step 2: Select “Edit” to add following repo in Cydia app.
Step 3: Once you successfully added the repo, search for UltraSn0w in Cydia Category. Download and install UltraSn0w on your iPhone.
Step 4: Lastly, reboot your iPhone.
Install Ultrasn0w Fixer On iPhone 3GS On iOS 4.3.1
Step 1: Launch Cydia app on the Springboard of your jailbroken iPhone 3GS.
Step 2: Then simply tap on Manage tab, then on Sources.
Step 3: Now you have to tap on Edit button, the tap on Add button.
Step 4: Now simply type http://djayb6.com/ as Cydia/APT URL and the tap on Add Source.
Step 5: Now Cydia will download and update its repository list.
Step 6: Now tap on Search tab, then type Ultrasn0w Fixer in the search field.
Step 7: Just simply tap on Install button to properly install Ultrasn0w Fixer on your iPhone.
That’s it. You can now unlock your iPhone 3GS running on iOS 4.3.1. Enjoy!
