The iPhone Dev Team had successfully rolled out the Redsn0w 0.9.7b1 that implements the “backup plan” for untethered jailbreak for Apple’s iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4,iPad and iPod Touch 4G, which is intended for beta testers. Due to some bug issues, the Dev Team releases two new beta versions of Redsn0w, the Redsn0w 0.9.7b2 and Redsn0w 0.9.7b3.

The revamped version of Redsn0w 0.9.7 was intended to fix the reported bug issues that most jailbreakers encountered after the untethered their iOS device. The Redsn0w 0.9.7b2 was released to fix the native app crashes and the Redsn0w 0.9.7b3 was launched to address bugs related to non-GUI programs such as Facetime, Winterboard themes, and embedded videos in iTunes.

From the iPhone Dev Team:

The third beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). This version extends the fix made in beta2 over to the non-GUI programs too (like the daemons that handle media content). That should cover things like Facetime, Winterboard themes, and embedded videos in iTunes. If you had trouble using the usbmuxd in previous betas, please wait until we incorporate that into redsn0w itself (i.e. don’t bother trying this beta3, just wait for the integration).

We would like to again emphasize that the Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta is intended foe beta testers only. The beta version of Redsn0w 0.9.7 is currently available only for Mac OS X users, Windows users will for the Dev team to release the final or berta version of their new untethered jailbreak. You can download the Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta 1 beta2, and beta 3 from this link. Stay tuned.
