Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Khumar has released a very interesting analysis and he claims that the Cupertino, California-based Apple will incorporate a dual-core processor chip on the forthcoming iPad 2 and iPhone 5 to compete against its tough rivals Research In Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook and Android 2.2 Gingerbread based Motorola tablet. The Rodman & Renshaw analyst claims:

"Apple is on track to refresh the iPad by March and iPhone by late summer. A key component upgrade across these platforms will be a dual-core processor featuring a pair of 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 cores."

Furthermore, the currently available iPad table is geared with Apple’s A4 chip, which runs at 1GHz. If the prediction of Khumar that the iPad 2 will sport a dual-core processor turns out to be accurate then it would mean that the future iPhone and iPod Touch will also get dual cores along with the same A4 chip.

Kumar also shared his opinion regarding the widely speculated Verizon iPhone. He wrote:

"iPhone volumes could also be maintained at the 15 million/quarter level through next year. The launch at Verizon could support an incremental 8 million units."

The combination of both dual-core processors and Apple’s A4 chip will definitely bring more powerful and revolutionary utilities to iDevices. Apple is expected to launch the iPad 2 in March 2011 and then iPhone 5 will touch down in June.
