iPhone hacker iH8sn0w the primary developer of the Sn0wbreeze jailbreak tool for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, like the iPhone Dev Team’s PwnageTool for Mac has announced that he is working on a strengthened and new version of its jailbreak tool, the Sn0wbreeze 2.2 which will come with Baseband Preservation Mode that will allow iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS,and iPhone 3G users to preserve the baseband of their device even if the firmware is updated to iOS 4.2.1 which will allow them to unlock their iDevice using the latest version of Ultrasn0w. See the screenshot above.

The “Baseband Preservation Mode” was first implemented in TinyUmbrella to provide an ability to iPhone 4 users to preserve the baseband of their device while updating to iOS 4.1. Unfortunately, the Cupertino, California-based Apple already figured it out that’s why the Baseband Preservation Mode of TinyUmbrella doesn’t work on its new operating system, the iOS 4.2.1. But, iH8snow finds a way and reintroduced the method on its forthcoming Sn0wbreeze 2.2.

As of now there is no ETA of Sn0wbreeze 2.2 yet, but iH8snow is planning to release the full version of Sn0wbreeze 2.2 very soon. Stay tuned.
