Apple To Sue 17 Year Old

Apple have been causing a lot of drama with the release of their white iPhone 4. First of all it was delayed and due to be released in the Spring of 2011 and now it has actually been removed from their website. It seems now however that Apple could actually be preparing to bring a law suit in a bid to protect their white iPhone 4 trademark.

This all comes after a 17 year old from New York actually make $130,000 after he sold more than 500 white iPhone 4 devices. The student who has not been named made this money after he sold a kit that contained white iPhone 4 parts. What he sold was in fact white coloured front and back panels, a white home button and tool and instructions so that people could get the white version of their phone. He sold all this for $300 which included the cost of the phone.

According to sources, this student actually managed to convince Faxconn who is the iPhone manufacturer to send him the parts that he needed to put his kit together. The student has not been contacted by Apple but seemingly they are preparing to sue him for the $130,000 that he made selling his kit. The student has received a threatening letter saying that his parts are either counterfeit or stolen. I’m not sure whether or not to believe all of this or whether it is Apple’s way of keeping themselves in the limelight. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

On another note Apple is still delaying the release of their iOS 4.2 causing even more controversy with their iPhone 4. The iOS 4.2 was supposed to have been released last week but so far there is no sign of it.
