OS Upgrade for Twitter App Causes Crashes

iPhone users who upgraded to the latest OS versions of the Twitter app are experiencing problems with this official iPhone app. Users who upgraded to OS version 3.0.1/3.0.2 reported that the application crashed and there’s no way of using it.

The official Twitter app, which is a free download at the Apple App Store, allows you to search for tweets and find users in the same spot. The app doesn’t also require any twitter account when you need to search tweets and users, and to view trending topics.

The app also allows you to signup for new account and manage multiple accounts under the Accounts and Settings button. The Retweet button, however, can be found under the main action bar.

The Twitter support team is already aware of the problem and has acknowledged this issue. A fix is now in the works but it may take a while for the team to resolve it.

If you cannot live without your Twitter, you may try this workaround to fix the problem. Note that you would need to have “Installous” on your phone in order to solve it. Of course, the most logical solution is to revert back or downgrade to the
old version of the Twitter app.

After installing “Installous”, you would need to:

1. Uninstall ver. 3.0.1 / 3.0.2 of Twitter app. To uninstall, simply touch the Twitter App logo on your Spring board and hold it till you see an "x" sign on top of it. Press "x" to delete the app.

2. Launch “Installous”, proceed to "Search" and type "Twitter". Select the official app from Twitter Inc. with the bird logo.

3. Hit the download button at the top right and download the app’s version 3.0. Select any available source for version 3.0 from the list and continue with the download.

Well, that’s it, you’re done! Your Twitter app should now be back in action.
