A fluctuating iPhone 4 signal bar has been one of the issues that gave birth to what is now known as the “deathgrip”. Apple has taken a blow from the issue and demonstrated that other smartphone handsets experience the same signal reduction problem. To end your worries regarding a possible signal problem, the iPhone Dev Team has launched "Signal", a new app for the iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G which displays a Google map detailing all the information on location of cell towers within your area.
The app shows you the cell towers around you and the signal strength you’re getting. Aside from this, it also shows the cell tower you’re iPhone is connected to, including all kinds of other info like neighboring cell towers and the frequency each cell is broadcasting in.
The cell tower location map gives you a good idea of your cellular coverage and where to get the best cellphone reception.
iPhone users can also check the carrier that has the strongest signal in a certain location by swapping SIMs in their unlocked iPhones.
"Signal" is available in Cydia for $4.99.
