A recent survey on the “Antennagate” experience in Apple iPhone 4s reported fewer dropped calls compared to iPhone 3GS. The survey was conducted on 213 new iPhone owners, majority of whom gave a “very satisfied” response to Apple’s action on the “deathgrip” issue.
ChangeWave Research published the findings of this new survey last Wednesday. It indicated that iPhone 4 users are now experiencing lesser dropped calls as compared to iPhone 3GS users.
ChangeWave stated that the survey was conducted between July 19 and 28. Its researchers interviewed 213 new iPhone 4 owners, many of whom showed respect for iPhone 4’s voice call feature. Voice calls for the iPhone 4 showed a 5.2 percent drop rate as compared to 6.3 percent for iPhone 3GS.
Paul Carlton, ChangeWave Vice-President for Research, said "Despite all of the issues surrounding the antenna, in actuality, iPhone 4 owners reported experiencing fewer dropped calls on the average than iPhone 3GS owners."
The survey showed that 35 percent of iPhone 4 owners are "very satisfied" with the way Apple addressed the “deathgrip” issue, 38 percent are "somewhat satisfied" and only 18 percent are "unsatisfied."
It would be recalled that Apple CEO Steve Jobs, in a press conference last July, indicated that the iPhone 4 has a slightly higher dropped call rate than the iPhone 3GS. This recent ChangeWave survey has proved otherwise. However, it also found that 13 percent of the respondents were "disappointed" with their iPhone 4, while only 6 percent were "disappointed" with their iPhone 3GS.
