Have you recently checked the Apple website? Frequent visitors to Apple’s webpage may have noticed that no recent significant update has been posted on the site dedicated to the antenna performance page.

Apple has recently removed references to and videos of the performance of competitor smartphones in comparison to the iPhone 4. It now only features general claims that the “death grip” issue affects most models of smartphones.

It’s interesting to note that Apple launched the page after its iPhone 4 press conference on the antennagate issue. It aimed to demonstrate how a number of other handsets experience signal reduction when held in a certain way. It featured videos of signals for handsets BlackBerry Bold 9700, the HTC Droid Eris, the Motorola Droid X, the Nokia N97 Mini, and the Samsung Omnia II.

No reason was provided as to its removal from the site. Speculators believe that the tech giant may have received complaints from its competitors. It would be recalled that the controversial page created a wave of criticisms and reactions from manufacturers of said phones, all of which compete with the iPhone.

Others said Apple just wanted to lessen the amount of attention drawn to the issue now that it has started its free case program.

There were also illustrations of how these devices also dropped calls and bars when held in a certain way. Apple's initial posting of the images and video within this controversial page prompted a wave of criticisms and responses from the makers of those smartphones, all of which compete with the iPhone.
