It is finally here, the iPhone 4 has been announced to the world. Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs announced everything at the World Wide Developers Conference 2010 and I can tell you this baby really does rock. It really is so much better than previous models and there are so many new features too that I really don’t know where to start. So here goes I’ll start with the features first.The brand new iPhone 4 beats the iPhone 3GS hands down. It has everything you could possibly need including:• Glass front and back
• Front facing camera for video conferencing
• 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
• 720p HD video recording
• 960 x 640 resolution with 800:1 contrast ratio
• Gyroscope (3-axis)
• Gyro + accelerometer provide 6-axis motion sensing
• Rotation about gravity
• Apple A4 chip
• 32 GB of Storage
• Dual mic suppression
• 802.11n WiFi
• 300 hours of standby battery time (3G talk time: 7 hours, 3G web browsing: 6 hours, WiFi browsing: 10 hours, Video playback: 10 hours, Music playback: 40 hours)
• 3.5-inch screen
• 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS
• 3.5 inch mm headset jack
• Micro SIM tray
• And more
The new iPhone 4 will use the iOS4 and this has 1500 new features. You can also use the iOS4 on your iPhone 3GS and 3G and with your iPod touch too and this will be available free. It is worth noting that some of the features will not work on the older models. This new operating system is available for developers at the moment and it won’t go public until the 21st of June when the new iTunes comes out.
There are some new apps for the iOS4 too and these include ibooks, iMovie and possibly keynote though this hasn’t been confirmed as yet.
This brand new iPhone 4 is going to be made available in two models. There will be the 16GB model which will set you back $199 and the 32GB model that will cost $299. Both of these iPhone 4 models will be available in black and white. The iPhone 3G has been discontinued and the price of the iPhone 3GS has been reduced to $99.
You can pre-order your brand new iPhone 4 from the 15th of June and it will be available in the US from the 24th of June. It is going to be made available through AT&T and if you have an existing iPhone with them you can upgrade to the iPhone 4. The launch date is also the same for the United Kingdom and a number of other countries too which is great as it means people won’t have to wait like with previous models.
On a final note you might want to check out the range of cases that are being made available for the new iPhone 4. These are called bumpers and they come in a range of great colors.

1500 new features, and why do we never hear what they are??? underwhelmed by this. Android has overtaken and this iphone marks the beginning of the end for the expression iphone killer. Apple now aim to make an android killer!
I was hoping this new iPhone would be carrier independent that is that Apple would sell them Unlocked for use with any carrier. I don't like At&T's service but if I want an iPhone I have to buy it with that service. Then unlock it and then stick my sim card from another carrier into it. Heck I'd even pay a bit more for an unlocked one.
