Apple’s 4th generation iPhone is duly expected to be released in the summer of 2010; however, there has been quite some hustle-bustle from this part of the year regarding it. Although, most of the news are termed a ‘rumors’; what is catching the attention is the series of leaked news, which is making the arrival of the fourth generation iPhone all the more exciting.

The latest news to have leaked revolving the arrival of the fourth generation iPhone is about the prospect of the next generation iPhone sporting a touch sensitive housing. Analysts have been in fact referring to it as a phone version of Apple's existing Magic mouse. But, what is the use of the touch sensitive housing; how can it add value to your iPhone?

Touch Sensitive Housing to Add Value to Fourth Generation iPhone

Well, there has been a debate regarding the requirement of touch sensitive housing for the iPhone. Analysts have arrived at the conclusion that since you are always in contact with the rear part of the device (where much of the housing is) while holding the iPhone; with the touch sensitive housing feature, instead of having to use one finger of your other hand, to interact with the phone, you can directly navigate things without actually touching the screen.

Apart from that as reported earlier, the next generation iPhone is supposed to get a 5 megapixel camera. iPhone enthusiasts are optimistic that Apple apart from flash feature will opt iPhone 4G getting an OLED screen - in place of its current LCD.

There is another rumor doing the rounds in the iPhone market and that is of another interesting feature - an on-board RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) reader on the iPhone. RFID tags are those which are used in various ways - from tagging books in a library to track people or animals for scientific and medical purposes. Although, it is considered too early to predict the true picture, all these rumors do tickle excitement and induce curiosity.

What’s your take on this? Do you have any 4th Generation iPhone news to share?

I had hoped they would incorporate a camera under the current touch screen so you would be able to hold a two way video call. Sort of have a dual camera version one where it is now... and another under the glass.

I would also like to see a "911" type of distress locator incase of a natural disaster such as 9/11/01 where if someone were lost or abducted they would be able to activate a locator signal for search & rescue to find them quickly and safely.
I love my apple products & will continue to stand behind them no matter what else comes on the market.
