There have been endless instances when Apple Inc. and Google have taken on each other’s business policies and market strategies. And the latest to make headlines is Apple’s acquisition of the mobile ad company Quattro Wireless, following soon on the heels of Google’s AdMob acquisition. Apple is assertive that this move to buy Quattro will prove to be very profitable for its iPhone market.Apple’s $275 million acquisition of Quattro has been seen as an attempt by the company to stake their claim to ads in the mobile world. Basically, it is all about sheer numbers and about aggregating several billion devices.
The significant difference between Google and Apple’s advertising policies is that while Google relies on income from online advertising, Apple does not require to do anything but sit tight on Quattro; until it could generate revenue 10 times as much as they paid for it.
Apple - Quattro: Playing the Ad Game
Analysts are optimistic that the amalgamation of Quattro into Apple will also prove advantageous for Quattro's clients - including major league players such as Procter & Gamble, Ford, NetFlix, Time, Visa, Disney and CBS Interactive; if at all they wish to move into mobile advertising.
In a recent announcement, Quattro Wireless has confirmed its acquisition by Apple Inc. and that it may use its services to offer ads in the iTunes App Store to other companies. Moreover, it is also likely that Apple will use Quattro’s services to give developers more tools to add and serve advertising in their apps.

Although this deal looks to be dreary at the first instance, it is a clear indication of Apple’s desire to make money from web apps and potentially bring ads to the Apple Tablet. Sources keeping a tab on the Apple Inc. reveal that it was Apple who wanted to buy advertising firm, AdMob, which was later purchased by Google.
Financial consultants opine that the acquisition of Quattro could also related to the Apple Tablet. Although, there hasn’t been much changed much, Quattro Wireless’s will give services to give developers more tools to add and serve advertising in their applications.
