And the latest news to ooze out is regarding the iPhone camera.News are rife that Apple has apparently ordered around 40-45 million camera units from OmniVision Technologies (the supplier and manufacturer of the 3.2-megapixel camera in the iPhone 3GS) for 2010. This is vividly an increase up from approximately 21 million for the current year. But, what makes the news more interesting is the fact that Apple has ordered 5 mega pixels camera-chips this year. So, does that mean the fourth generation iPhone will be decked up with a 5 megapixel camera?
5 megapixel iPhone camera - welcome news!!
Well, it may be surprising for all those who have been closely following Apple iPhone over the years. There has been wide speculation that Apple would be breaking the news about its camera upgrade in the forthcoming summer iPhone announcement. The news is slated to receive warm welcome all over the world, considering Apple Inc. no giving enough importance to the iPhone camera in the previous two upgrades of the iPhone.
Rumors have been making the rounds that the fourth generation iPhone will debut on June 28, 2010. Analysts are optimistic that the new iPhone version armed with a 5-megapixel camera will contribute to the 40-45 million iPhones that Apple plans to sell in 2010. There is also a certain level of skepticism about the quality of pixels Apple will be using in its iPhone, hoping that good pixels will be used.
What more other than the camera is changing in the next iPhone upgrade?
Apart from news about the new iPhone version supposedly to have a 5 mega pixel camera, there are widespread rumors that there are too little chances of any drastic hardware modifications to be imbibed for the iPhone. As for the handset, it has almost everything that is required from 3G to GPS to a compass; so what else can be added. Its only the software in the iPhone device which can be enhanced now.
All Apple can optimistically wish for now with this new addition, is growth in iPhone's popularity and doubling in sales in the next year.
