Have you been pondering all this while after accidentally updating your iPhone to firmware 3.1.2 in iTunes and updating the baseband to 05.11.07? Well, its time to cheer up as Geohot has more good news for you. News has been doing the rounds that Geohot has started his work on BlackSn0w - unlock for the iPhone 3.1.2 baseband 05.11.07. For your information, baseband 05.11.07 is the latest baseband version of the iPhone OS 3.1.2 which is presently not unlockable.

Reports indicate that one Jody Sanders had proposed to support Geohot’s developmental work on Blacksn0w with $10,000 bounty, which was rejected by Geohot. Searching for further details on this ‘generous’ donor revealed that this person has been making money selling the dev team’s unlocking tools and carrying oniphone unlocking besides jailbreak iphone to people who do not know better. So, Geohot felt taking favors from him would equal to legitimizing his business, which he personally does not approve.
Geohot’s latest Blacksn0w update on Twitter
The latest update heard from Geohot on Twitter which reads “#blacksn0w is still a ways away...thats just PoC. and I'm kind of burnt out from that”goes out to show that BlackSn0w is still ways away from its way to be released overnight.
Intermittently, there has also been news doing the rounds that the dev team is also working on unlocking 05.11.07 for a while without much success until now. Lets waits and watch, who wins this race!
