Termed as one of the weirdest of iPhone applications in recent times, the Pocket Cemetery app for the iPhone has however managed to attract quite a large number of eyeballs on its launch. This iPhone application besides allowing you to create virtual tombstones for your departed loved ones on the iPhone and iPod Touch also lets you post photos, favorite memories, biographies, send prayers and even lay virtual wreath of flowers on tombstones. Moreover, the app also allows you to email your memorials to friends and family.

Wayne Perry is quite ecstatic about the application, as he considers this to be very close to his heart and also believes, it will connect emotionally to many others who feels the same for departed souls they loved. The idea to develop such an application as Pocket Cemetery for theiPhone came to Perry, once when he was thinking about his grandparents and other deceased loved ones who have been buried in different cemeteries around the country. Not to forget his pets he loved so much, but lost over the years.
He felt, there must be surely innumerable number of people who feel the same as hin in not being able to visit the graves or pay respects by laying a wreath whenever they wanted. That’s how the Pocket Cemetery was created to enable you to carry the memories of your departed loved one along with you on youriPhone and pay respect to them anytime you wish to. Moreover, he felt, there cannot be a better way to bring all your loved cremated in different places, together through the iPhone app.

While the whole world jumped in to cash on Michael Jackson’s death, be it the continuous coverage by media or the music industry churning millions with MJs albums, theiPhone connection to the ‘King of Pop’ was undoubtedly the last thing in people’s mind.

He was quick to assess that; there cannot be a much apt time than this, when the whole world is mourning Michael Jackson to come up with a Memorial to launch the Pocket Cemetery iPhone app.
Although Perry seems to be quite pleased with the response the application is getting after a video of the Michael Jackson video was posted on YouTube, critics and analysts consider this as a marketing gimmick of poor taste. However, poor taste or not, the Pocket Cemetery app has definitely made its mark with its carefully cut out business timings and the right product.

At the same time, there is news that GSC Products, the company behind the Pocket Cemetery app is working on several interactive services like carrying out delivery orders for real flower to grave sites collection of charitable donations in the names of departed loved ones. Moreover, Perry has also indicated updates for Pocket Cemetery including free blog space on its website PocketCemetery.com.
