Good news for all Facebook enthusiasts! It’s official. Confirmation comes from Facebook that the updated Facebook for iPhone 3.0 is on its way and you will be able to connect to all your friends anytime from your iPhone ‘very soon’.

- Events (including the ability to RSVP)
- Notes
- Pages
- Create new photo albums
- Upload photos to any album
- Zoom into photos
- Easier photo tagging
- Profile Pictures albums
- A new home screen for easy access to all your stuff, search, and notifications
- Add your favorite profiles and pages to the home screen
- Better Notifications (they link to the comments so you can reply)
- Quickly call or text people right from the Friends page
- Messages you are typing will be restored if you quit or are interrupted by a phone call

Check out the screenshot of the features list as posted by Facebook developer Joe Hewitt in his ‘iPhone Notes’. As visible from the screen shot, there is apparently a great optimism and excitement about the new updates, considering the number of people voting ‘for’ the updated Facbook app.

The new Facebook app is said to be 98 percent complete till now; seems the rest of 2 percent is for the approval from Apple Inc. There is also news that significant upgrade and push notifications are expected for the 3.1 update later this summer (although iPhone OS 3.0 update has technically allowed push notifications).
