Zibri you've been doing a lot for us and we're very thankfull for that. I recently insulted you because I believed in the dev teams lies. I'm pretty sure testing an unlockig tool could take a while but now it's been like what,25 days, it takes the dev team much less. me,my brother,my mother,my sister and my father didn't wait for ziPhone and some of us payed the price, my mother was forced to restore back to a normal mode and never unlocked again(instead she got a £30 O2 tariff and is enjoying it, my father already had an O2 tariff but he's the luckiest in our family and has never restored. my sister doesn't even have a sim(she's 9) so she needs her phone to be unlocked to use it as a PDA even though she has restored twice,she still is using quickPWN.me and my brother have upgraded to 3G and are using it with a £15 O2 tariff( non iPhone, did you know you don't have to unlock 3G,all u have to do is put an O2 or ATT pay & go sim in it and iTunes will activate it and then you can use any other SIM (e.g Orange). still Happy birthday and Good luck

Zibri I just wanna thank u from the bottom of my heart 4 SAVING my iPhone from what 2 me seemed like disaster!.....
I came upon your 3.0v I think in May or June thanks to Yahoo! Answers & boy am I glad I did. U see, I upgraded my iPhone to the 1.1.4v thinking that nothing bad would happen but then the next day after I turned off & on my iPhone did I realize that it got bricked! So panicingly I searched online for a solution to my problem & came upon someone recommending me trying your system & 4 someone who is a "tech newbie" your system was SUPER easy to use & worked PERFECTLY!
I'm SOOO anxious to get the 2.0.2 update & I would LOVE to get it by the 13th or 16th or maybe a bit l8r... but I understand how tough this stuff can be cuz I mean dude your a perfectionist & u like to keep it nice & simple so trying to get that from like a tech masterpiece is down right TRICKY! Plus since Apple is coming up with upgrade after upgrade with 2.0 then 2.0.1 & now 2.0.2 you gotta keep up.....
I've checking out what the 2.0 upgrade actually has to offer & what ALL of the changes are & ppl.....that's ALOT of AWESOME, COOL SHIT!
So since I've been getting a bit antsy so I actually thought about doing whatever "The Dev Team" came up with :-( but when I looked at it.....to me it's a MESS! So complicated with the clicking & finding & loading & DFUing.....BLAH! :-P

hey Zib, your latest post proved how meticulous you are which is the reason you got my complete trust. I got my iphone 3g last week and bought sim unlock. It worked when I get back to Manila, though still unmod and fresh with no add on apps, of course. I'm not rushing to jailbreak or unlock until u say so. As they say, patience is a virtue. Stay cool man. Be great!

Hi Zibri,
I've always used your program ZiPhone to update my iPhone, because I don't like to install custom software on it... that's why I didn't like WinPwn. However, the current version of QuickPwn for Windows (QuickPwn 2.1) works exactly as ZiPhone... I mean, you restore the iPhone via iTunes (thus installing the ORIGINAL Apple firmware) and after that, you apply the QuickPwn, which unlocks, activates and jailbreaks the iPhone. Works like a charm! Probably doesn't work so fast as ZiPhone, but I think that the method is the same. I would really your opinion about QuickPwn 2.1, do you think it's safe? Please, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it...

P.S.: The unlock of QuickPwn 2.1 for 2.1 firmware ONLY works on original (1st gen) iPhones.

actually just wanted to respond to Z's remark about the only incentive for jailbreaking 2.0 or whatever version is capital at the time of Zi's timeframe if at all.
I for one have been using the Jailbreak for 1.1.4 for some time now and to be honest, perfectly honest if a site, host has an opportunity for me to leave a donation depending on whether or not i use the app or if it looks like something i will use, or i just genuinely like the person and embrass the body of work he/she has done outside of this specific app. Well I almost always leave a donation, i realize i don't have to and that makes it so very cool, because i don't have someone with their hand out telling me to pay them and they can use the application that they made by rearranging a whole lot of 1's and 0's to bring about this neat program. I feel Zibri is a man of great depth and i feel his comment was made without really considering the enormous amount of people who like me are willing to give a man/woman thier due. It's practical, I don't think people do this to get rich, if that is a by product of your work then praise be to God from whom all good things come, but really these people love to solve they love to write code and I speak for a whole world of people when i say that we don't want our phones jail broken so we can get free apps from the app store. We want them jail broken so that apple doesn't govern what our phone can and cannot do. The app store is a great thing, but were it not for Zibri's hard work i wonder if apple would have given it the position it has today. Are we afraid apple will go belly up because they lost a bit of revenue? Hardly, Apple should be giving the same option that the jail broken apps do and that is to give an opportunity for a donation to be made, You would be surprised at what some people find in their hearts how valuable something is and how easy it is to give one thousand dollars instead of ten. I encourage Zibri to continue his work and to fight the urge to allow himself to get boxed in. Apple can be very good at taking and giving and soon you look at everyone through a tainted set of peepers. Are there people who only want free apps? You bet there are and there are people who only wanted a free cup of coffee at Dennys, but that didn't stop the store next door from brewing up a pot of free coffee, some people are one dimensional and the only thing in their world is them, we can't do anything about it, but we can insure that thier position doesn't filter through and cause our worlds to become associated with theirs.

Some of us just need ZiPhone to activate a 2G iPhone with firmware update 2.1, in countries where iPhones were available only with the 3G models and a data plan.
I have a 2G iPhone (1.1.3 ZiPhoned) in Canada, which i'd like to update to 2.1 in order to buy from the AppStore, but I can't right now because I won't be able to simply activate it in iTunes.
I agree though, who needs to jailbreak the iPhone now, since Apple came up with the AppStore...
So how about an Zactivation tool?

avast gives a false positive only because that gadget is in an iframe and it's obfuscated code.
nothing to worry about.
no trojan... you can easily deobfuscate the code and see for yourself there is no trojan.
i had to use an obfuscator to make it one single piece of code because blogger is slightly incompatible with that script.

On a quick note, my main reason to jailbreak is to get OpenSSH!! That's it! It saved my phone's data when in 2.0 I was having the loop on the boot screen, and I love the ability to restore and backup SMS and other individual things!
I do agree with you that the current "pirating scene" growing around the jailbreak community is discouraging for someone like you (and I can "feel" Apple's pressure there m8 :p) but maybe you can come up with a solution for that!
But *please*: find a way to get OpenSSH in 2.1!! :D (and I do know that having ssh is what drives all the pirating... but not much you can do there :/)

I've been visiting your website and been reading your blog for a long time now.
I just would like to say that I admire your work and your integrity. I agree with you about not jailbreaking the 3g iphone as the apple store is doing a great job itself with the new apple apps. The only thing that I feel it would be very beneficial to all of us, that have bought an Iphone 3g, is to be able to use it with a sim card of our choice.

Also when you open up the camera on this iphone, the camera asks
"camera would like to use your current location" "don't allow , ok" it does this everytime you open the camera application... The camera doesn't need GPS

Would appreciate some advice if thats ok....cos im not sure if i just plug my phone into my pc and click update, what would happen.....thanks for the hard work though, i read some of the other blogs and i couldnt care less, your stuff worked. easy, simple....and im grateful.
