Only one question: I have a 1.1.1. OTB with BL 3.9 that was osft.updated to 1.1.3 and unlocked with the Geohot method. If I use iTunes to do a 1.1.3 restore and then run your Ziphone util to ONLY do the activation and jailbreaking, will my baseband still be unlocked?

However, I tried to use the previous release on a 1.1.3 iPod Touch. (ziphone -j)
Ziphone stoped at 'wait 45"'
I disconnected the iPod after nearly one hour.It couldn't restart (freeze at apple logo).
Worse, it cannot be restored anymore ( error (1) or (1064) )
First - is the software supposed to work on an iPod touch ?
Second - any idea how I could make my iPod work again ?

I did have a 4.03 BL3.9 unlocked. I did a restore 1.1.3 and used ziphone to jailbreak and activate. Worked fine and the Unlock was still there. So if you earlier used Zibri's 4.03 BL3.9 Anysim 1.1.3 unlock, no need to unlock again. Remember to Install after all done,to Install BSB,SHH and all your Apps. Also in iTunes will ask you restore your Backup, select as a new iPhone and you will have perfect iPhone.
I´m having trouble with AnySim 1.3 after running ZiPhone on my 3.9 iPhone! All I get is "You must set Auto-Lock to never", when i have in fact done that. Plz help me, anyone!
Did you fixed the installer of the previous version? I mean, it seems that you have used your own copy of the installer.app instead of a "fresh" one, leaving residual applications being listed as installed where they were actually not there.
i have a 1.0.2 iPhone,should i use ZiPhone for unlocking or is there some other way to do this.

1)I am (was..) on 4.6/1.1.2 OTB
2)I downgraded to 1.1.1 and JB, everything fine but unlock (was too early)
3)When I saw the 4.6 geo unlock I ran (Too fast ) to soft upgrade (forgetting that I am not on 1.1.2 anymore..) and I finish with a 1.1.3 unlocked,BUT without Installer app on it.
4)So... I just went to Itunes to downgrade at 1.1.1 and begin from scratch... but the phone hangs! It cant restore 1.1.1 (itunes error) neither 1.1.2 or 1.1.3! Also try with Ibrick but green screen (need itunes restore)
5)I give a try to ZipPhone, Iphuc and almost everythigh I found on the forums without success.
Now I have an Iphone in recovery mode and I dont know how to restore ANY firmware/software on it.. Any suggestions?

sorry to bother again but i just have a wi-fi router with no wi-fi internet connection. Also I don't have edge on my phone. So please help. Also it would be nice if you enable afc2 service by default in /System/Library/Lockdown/Services.plist. :)

5) now (stupidity!) upgrade baseband to 4.6 without soft upgrade to 1.1.3;
6) boom! no wifi.. no anything...(repair needed);
7) restore to 1.1.3 WHITHOUT shift;
8) back to life, but impossible to downgrade to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2

9) which baseband is mine? no baseband I supose...

He fixed that two versions ago.
What I'd like to know is if he fixed the issue with /System/Library/Lockdown/Services.plist so that afc2 is in it without having to edit/replace it. This is needed to access the file system via iBrickr/Funtastic (without afc2 they will claim the iPhone is still in jail).

I'm with the same problema of Jilpi.
I tried to use this software on my iPod Touch, but it stop at "Please wait 45'' ".
And, if i try to restore using iTunes it gives a error saying that my iPod doesn't have sufficient free memory to restore.
Erm, HELP?

To everyone having problems:
you HAVE to SHUTDOWN the iPhone correctly BEFORE using ZiPhone !
Take the iphone from the DOCK.
press and hold ONLY the power button for 5 seconds.
The SLIDE TO power off.
Then keeping the HOME button pressed (only the home button),
connect to dock.
And keep the home button pressed until the iPhone is in RECOVERY mode.
Then RUN ZiPhone.

I have tried the command "ziphone -j -a -u" in a 1.1.2 OTB purchased about November 2007, it worked really nice, now I can use every function but the phone is not working! When I write a number to make call, the screen just disappear before the first digit and send me back to home screen. Does anybody knows what is happening, how do I solve it?

i'm following your blog etc. for some time now. i really appreciate all that work that you invested. Look i'm one of the just users. however, my iPhone 1.1.3. was unlocked with NextSim, SSH and worked fine, untill i installed a third party application, a ToDoList what unfortunately is missing by Mac. The phone crashed totaly, the screen was stucked in kind of a dimmed stage, half way luminated. After this i really tried everything i could, like iNdependence, Gunshot, what ever i could imagine might be working. The end was that nothing worked and i restored the phone with iTunes; it was then 1.1.3 with BL 4.6, i tried to downgrade it with an other restore to 1.1.1 and then to 1.0.1. But it is still stucked in recovery mode and i can't get it out of this. That appears the main problem to me. Well i tried you new release of ZiPhone but it changed nothing, i tried it several times, followed all your recomandation; but still...
So my quetion is now, due to that i believe in your ability and software, could you please write down the process to unlock a 1.1.3.; BL 4.6; for dummies. Please. I mean things like, should the SIM Card in the phone while ZiPhone is running, and if with or without NextSim/AnySim, should iTunes be running, should we kill iTunes helper before lunching ZiPhone; or does it all make no difference???

Still getting stuck where is says "working..." It gets past it when the iphone shutsdown itself, not because Ziphone reboots it. After that it stucks where it says "wait for 2,30''.
Trying it with a virgin iphone upgraded to 1.1.3 using itunes.

Install iWorld in the installer.
It's a bug in 1.1.2.
PEOPLE: If you are getting bus error on mac or crashes/hangs on windows (hangs at 2'50'') YOU ARE PROBABLY IN DFU MODE WHICH IS INCORRECT.
First thing to do is to TURN OFF THE PHONE.
You must be in RECOVERY MODE. For that, keep the USB plug plugged in the computer but remove the other end which connects to the iphone's dock cable.
With NO CABLE connected to the iphone, press and hold the HOME button and then plug in the cable.
It will boot up and display an image of a cable+itunes. THAT is recovery mode.
Let me say this again: DFU mode WILL NOT WORK WITH ZIPHONE.

I never realized your masterpiece is sooooooo easy! even a 3 yr old kid can unlock an iphone now. Took me so long to use other apps and even contemplating in buying one of those turbosims but hey patience is the key and I think you did it all... Hats off to you my man!!!!! well i am stucked in the very same stage.
i tried it with Mac OS 10.5.2 laptop and Windows XP Laptop.
The ZiPhone gets stuck in work, on the Monitor it says wait 2'30''
that's it, until the phone switches of. and i'm very sure that the phone is in recovery mode, where you see the cradle with the arrow to the iTunes logo.
and how to install iWorld when the phone is trapped in recovery mode?

I did a factory restore with itunes to 1.1.3.
ran ./iphone.exe -j -a
jailbroke it, activated it.
but now i cant get service. not really sure what to do... I have AT&T, so i dont need it jailbroken.

Zibri, I finally got it! I was trying the procedure on a windows virtual machine. I tried it on a normal pc and work just perfectly

How long should the erase take in 3.9? I have been trouble erasing in the traditional methods, but this has been hanging at working for a while.
jason, delete itunes 4.6 and all of its preferences. Use 4.4 or 4.3 from oldapps.com.With 4.6 u'll have no success for sure.

downgrade to 1.1.1 jailbreak it, then unlock it via installer or via zibris method. After that install oktoprep from installer.
Connect your phone to yout pc/mac. With itunes UPDATE it to 1.1.2. Then jailbreak it with the dev team 1.1.2 jailbreaker.
At the end from installer update to 1.1.3 with the dev team 1.1.3 updater. It will take a while because it will download the 1.1.3 firmware via wifi to your phone. 20-30 minutes or something like that. At the end u'll have an unlocked 1.1.3 with all functions working.
And dont forget to set the autolock feature to "never" at each process.

If you tried to run this on your iPod Touch and it no longer boots and are unable to restore it, make sure you revert MobileDevice.framework back or iTunes won't work properly.

i did the unlock as per the instructions,
i got no signal,
so i performed the whole thing again,
again same result,
so in the command line thing the option for
ziphone -e ( to eraze BL)
after that iphone wont Activate, no matter how much i tried, it dosnt go past the activation screen.

For those experiences the bus error problem under OSX, simply go to System -> Library -> Private Frameworks folder, rename the MobileDevice.Framework folder in MobileDevice.Framework.ORIGINAL and then copy the one supplied with the zibri package there. Now when you run ziphone everything will go smooth!
Remember to restore the original MobileDevice.framework after the unlock or iTunes won't work ! ;)

hey. thanks a lot for the ziphone app. its working fine to jailbreak and activate my 1.1.2 otb iphone, but when i unlock i am still getting no network. i have iworld, but i am uk. i had previously unlocked from installer, which didnt work at first, then i got 02 coverage, i changed chip to orange and got nothing, then put 02 back in and nothing. dont know if this affect the ziphone unlock. please suggest a solution

i restored my phone to a clean 1.1.3 and ran ZiPhone. int worked great. Except that the email program crashes when i tap on it and the camera takes pictures but does not store them to the phone. Any sugestions? am i the only only one with this problem?

I have an iphone 1.1.3 otb, i have launched ziphone and i wait 45 minutes, the phone restart, an apple appair on the screen.
every 5 minutes restart and only the apple compare on the screen.
i think to restart ziphone but not find the iphone.
now are passed 3 hour, the iphone is disconnected and the display was on with the apple.

after performing the hack , you wil not have any Service ( 0 Cellular towers)
u need to install BSD subsystem and then install
anySim 1.3 for 3.9BL
( found in Installer)- Wifi will work,
unless u have erased the 3.9 BL as well " using ziphone -e"
if u did, u can restore it by Itunes 7.6
it will update ur baseband, and your phone will be operational again.

Updating to Itunes 7.6 wil help,
itunes error 1604 is an Runtime error , when the bootloader is corrupted.
the newer itunes wil restore it. - it worked for me

Your baseband wil be unloced but you will have no Signal or no Service,
Inorder to correct that prob, u need to install BSD subsystem and then Install AnySim 1.3 for 3.9 BL.
perform the unlock and your baseband wil be updated and you wil have Cellular Signal again.

you will have no Cellular Signal , ie the phone feature will not work
You then need to install BSD Subsystem from the Installer and then install AnySim 1.3 for 3.9BL also found in Installer.
After instaling AnySim will update the baseband and ur phone will be operational again , and yes google's Locatme wil work!.
you are imazing i was 1.1.1 unlocked with anysim now i am 1.1.3 in 2 min without pain thank you thank you thank you.
the only issue was with ibrckr but it was solved with ziphone ibrckr fix so thank you .

Yes you can, mine was the same story and now I have 1.1.3 using itunes restore then ziphone 2.4.

when you did dg to 1.1.1 if you see green screen, at the same step just restore once more 1.1.1 while u can c the green screen, after that you can fix the baseband.
