I decided to release it for everyone since MANY
are helping supporting sponsors.
And it would not have been fair to them.
I suggest you to do a restore to 1.1.4
not an update. Because installer keeps old
installed apps in it's cache and you would have problems.
Hoping people at nullriver software resolve that soon.
After restore to 1.1.4, just use "ziphone -Z Y" or the first
button on GUI versions.

Zibri, ZiPhone 2.5 is NOT reverting the new baseband to the locked state (when you press the Refurbished State button). I did it last night and even after a restore in iTunes, the phone was still unlocked. The reverting of jailbreaking and activating was fine, only the unlock was not. You should check that out. Probably a bug?
I can't download a Mac OS version neither with Safari nor with Opera! It just shows file contents as a page and I can not chose "Save a Link As" since it redirects to ziphone.org then :(

Some hints:
- look for the 1.1.4 restore firmware at iphone.unlock.no
- use Shift-Restore and NOT "upgrade" to put 1.1.4 on your phone
- use the ziphone 2.5 GUI "do it all" button to activate/jailbreak/unlock
- when iTunes asks, tell it that it's a NEW iPhone. Don't restore your old stuff back onto it...
- on the iPhone, first set up WiFi and EDGE. Then go to the Installer and install the BSD subsystem (from the System category), OpenSSH, etc.
- then... donate to Zibri !! and have fun

I bought an 8GB iPhone 1.1.2 OTB from an AT&T store last night, plugged it in to my PC (with iTunes 7.6.1) and ran ZiPhone and everything worked perfectly afterwards - T-Mobile voice, Edge, Wi-Fi, YouTube, Google Maps, etc.
I then upgraded to 1.1.4 through iTunes (not restore) and had to rerun ZiPhone. Again, everything unlocked correctly and I'm a very happy T-Mobile iPhone user.

Wonderful and fast application, worked like a charm!
But I have one issue: Anyone unable to write to the file system? I mean I'm unable in MobileFinder to create a new folder, etc.
I might just be missing some app in Installer... but I can't think of what it might be (I have BSD Subsystem 2.1).

Works fully as always!!! nothing wierd on jailbreak+activate+unlock issues.
Just tried refurbish on 3.9BL and -e command after i got several freeze on iphone too much lately..
But REFURBISH dont works fully. It still shows iphone as unlocked and shows signal of cell provider on newly restored iphone!!!
Might be a bug as cort-x7 mentioned.

I have an iphone 1.1.3 OTB BL 4.6 activate/jailbraked/unlocked by ziphone 1.1; the BB is 04.02.13_G (of course).
I would like to keep my BL at v4.6 and not downgrade it at 3.9.
I don't use locate me feature, and I don't plan to use it in future...
So I prefer to stay in naive BL 4.6
So I have thought to activate, jailbreak and unlock my iphone with different versions of ziphone.
My planned strategy:
1. restore by itunes at 1.1.4
2. activate and jaylbrake with ziphone 2.5
3. unlock with ziphone 2.4 or 2.3
In my mind this procedure will leave my iphone in this status:
BL 4.6
BB 04.02.13_G
OS 1.1.4 activated, jailbraked and unlocked.
Is this correct?
Zibri or other people, can confirm my strategy will works?
Zibri: using this "ziphone mix" can prevent next ulock/jailbreak/activation?
I think I can DFU or restore my iphone or reverginize it... and if needed use ziphone 2.5 (or above) to free my iphone.

Just wanted to give an update for anyone having youtube problems after using the "do it all" on 2.5:
After restoring 1.1.4, I just "jailbroke" my phone and synced to iTunes as a new phone. Checked and youtube worked! Then went to the advanced features and checked only unlock and youtube still worked! I didn't try activating by itself, but it might help some who are having problems.

I just have one question. I restored my iphone using 1.1.4, and the about screen says that 1.1.4 is on the phone with firmware 04.04.05_G b , however, iTunes says that 1.1.3 is on my phone. it also tells me that 1.1.3 is the latest.

when we run
ziphone -e
ziphone -D
and restore to 1.1.3, we still get 4.04.5_G
-e still doesn't work on 1.1.4

If you had problems erasing 4.04 baseband.
Re-Download ziphone.
I corrected a typo that prevented it.
Now it works perfectly.

Thank for the ZiPhone. We really appreciate your effort. However while unlocking an out of box iPhone (V1.1.3), the first time when we selected "Do it all" option after a brief period my device went in to recovery mode and did not reboot on its own. Do not panic. Reboot the device (iPhone), connect to the computer and select "Do it all" option again, the Zibris magic worked like charm.
FYI - Installer keeping packages - when you install Installer.app, you need to replace the ~/Library/Installer/LocalPackages.plist with a default one (I think that has only Installer.app in it) or erase it all together (may not upgrade Installer.app properly then, not sure) like a standard install of Installer.app.
Not really their problem, but the way you are installing Installer.app.

Question, CAN I STILL USE ZIPHONE 2.5!!! as far as I Know if you ALREADY UNLOCKED YOUR PHONE WITH GEOHOT METHOD, YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE THE BOOTLOADER. My question, what option should I choose when using Ziphone 2.5? since there are no option to activated, Unlocked and Jailbreak iphone with condition like mine.
There are many people out there that still "STICK" with 4.6 Bootloader since they already unlocked with Ziphone 1.1.
Appreciate if some one could explain about this.

you are the best...I sent the donation thru....I upgraded to the latest itunes and iphone and then ran your software...all went great...only little trap for people in Australia - the phone doesn't work with Three sims, since they are 3G....you will have to switch to another prvider which will give you a 2G sim.
I've recently upgraded to 1.1.4 (through iTunes's "option+Restore") and then I used ZiPhone 2.5 Mac GUI
Everything works fine... except Mail... iPhone's mail button crashes and iTunes cannot sync mail (says iPhone canceled the Sync) ... any ideas on how to solve this problem???

I restored on Itunes 1.1.4.
Then I used Ziphone (do it all).
But, even if I have an access to the applications, I can't join my phone network (Of course I took out the turbosim, I chose "New Iphone")
What is to be done ???

I have a 1.1.2 OTB. Few weeks ago, i used ziphone 2.2 to unlock (restored to 1.1.3.... blahblah) . All works fine ;)
Today, i restored my phone to 1.1.4 version and launch Ziphone 2.5.
THE PROBLEM: Ziphone ends quicky, at 30 seconds. My iphone appers to be Jailbroken (i can see de installer app), but the phone doesn work. Cant conect to make calls.
Appes to be Locked.

I downloaded the "b" version and I have tried to do a restore to a couple of previous versions but none seem to work. In fact the bb always remains 4.04.05G no matter what firmware I use.
I use:
Mac OS X 10.5.2
iTunes 7.6.1
Steps I follow:
1) ziphone -e to erase the bb. (It actually does erase it)
2) I then use the DFU mode for a full restore.
3) Then I use ziphone -Z Y but it also seems to restore the 4.04.05G version of the bb to the phone and not unlocking the corresponding bb firmware.
This doesn't work in 1.1.4 OOTB, i preesed DOIT ALL , but only Jailbreak and Activate, when i tried to put ziphone -v -b, do nothing, then in command mode, i put ziphone -Z Y , only jailbreak and activate, please help me.

Ziphone 2.5b does not unlock some phones.
It worked with my older 1.0.2 OTB iPhone restored to 1.1.4, but fail on the newer 1.1.3 OTB upgraded to 1.1.4. Jailbreak, activation - OK. Just unlock does not work.
What about the bug in current version?
When do you plan to release newer version which will erase the baseband?

Thanks to you that I unlocked my otb 1.1.2 and upgraded to 1.1.3 and unlocked it.
My questions are :
Will I lose my Data (Addressbook and songs) if I restore and keep it as a new phone?
Second, as asked by others, is it ok to downgrade the bootloader? Cant we do it without having to downgrade?
I do not mind waiting... as I read that the new update does not have any surface changes, just internal improvements and bug fixes.

For those seeing problems with the mail app, the camera or installer:
- for mail and the camera, you need to change permissions on 2 directories. You'll need to be able to FTP into your iphone (I used Independence to set this up) and then you can check permissions using CMD-I (get info). the two directories need to be set to 777 (read/write/execute checked for all items). The camera directory is called "media" and the mail dir is var/mobile/library/mail. You'll be able to find the media one more easily if you have photos in it. I set the permissions recursively, using Cyberduck.
- The installer problem where you get "package error" when you try and download gets fixed just by refreshing the sources.
with those problems out of the way i have no other issues; youtube works, the locator in google maps works, the itunes store works (all of which have been problems using other upgrades on previous versions)

What can I say? It worked.
I inherited a iPhone 1.1.1 which worked on Wifi only. It took less than 10 minutes to fully upgrade and 100% unlock it to 1.1.4 & 04.04.05_G.
I love the photos at the top of each post on your website, it really brightens it up. I particularly loved the photo of the boy at the top of this post.

I have jail broken my iPhone(1.1.2), and it works with any SIM in USA. Now I am in India and trying to use it. However not able to make any call. When trying to dial any number using indian SIM , after dialing any number it comes back to home. But I can use T-mobile(roaming) in in India. I would appreciate your help.

It worked for me.
I got an Ipod touch 1.1.1 and upgraded to version 1.1.4 through iTunes.
After 1.1.4 upgrade I successfully applied ziphone 2.5c jailbreak and everything went perfectly.
I haven't tried any other methods for jailbreaking besides ziphone.

I am new to this, and here is my situation: iPhone 1.1.4 16GB. Downloaded Ziphone 2.5 on my Mac, installed, Jailbroke and Unlocked the iPhone (original AT&T user in the U.S. but travel abroad frequently). Everything seemed fine, EXCEPT the iPod part will not work (no music playing), the phone does not ring when incoming calls arrive, speaker phone does not work, volume on calls is really low, and basically no sound comes out of the iPhone (outgoing e-mails, new voice mail alert, etc.)
Can someone please help me figure out why this is happening??

For the iPhone turning off issue:
Steps:
1. Turn off your iPhone by pressing at the same time power and home button (don't use the slider, keep pressing both buttons till screen collapses).
2. Wait about 30 seconds with your iPhone off.
3. Turn it back on (I had to do it with both buttons pressed).
With this method iPhone has been on without turning off by itself for about 8 hours. This morning it had turned off again, but that's much more than 20 seconds and I had synced it already, don't know if this was the reason why it turned off.

Hi, i just tried to update my unlocked oob iphone 1.1.3 to 1.1.4.
I downloaded ziphone 2.5c and ziphone 2.3. I didn't want to downgrade the BL. I ran the osx gui and selected the second button, activate and jailbreak only and then clicked on the button to perform action. My iphone ended up with 3.9 bl, unlocked and not activated or jailbreaked. I had signal but i had the slide for emergency screen. I even got an incoming call. I went to advanced options and selected activate and jailbreak and my iphone is up and running fine now. I just wanted to keep the 4.6 bl and baseband 4.02 but ended up with 3.9 and 4.04. What did i do wrong, so next time i unlock an iphone i dont do the same mistake?

FOR ALL OF YOU HAVING SOUND PROBLEMS after using ZiPhone:
Maybe it's just the very simple thing of toggling the switch on the side of the phone and/or a reboot. I've noticed on some phones that the switch setting did not correspond with the actual internal position of the sound. It may even be that the volume returns to minimum.
I mean: it's worth a try! If this doesn't work, try to reboot.
well, thankfully i got it working again. i had to reboot several times but it finally did the trick!

I am considering getting myself an iPhone 8Gb but I am worried about downgrading the BL from 4.6 to 3.9. If my phone needs to go off for repair or a later version of the firmware only runs with BL 3.9 what will I do?
Does anyone know of a way of unlocking, activating and jailbreaking and OTB iPhone without downgrading the BL? I'm not that bothered about using the locateMe function of google - cos I know where I am (well most of the time).
