Yesss, I ordered my new Iphone 10 days ago, I know it is not unlocked and am looking for the best way to do it..... since one week I am downloading a new ziphone version every day and I am still waiting for the Iphone, the challenge is : what will be the ziphone version when I will receive the phone. Good question
When I will have the Iphone and if Ziphone unlock it I will donate as per the version : 2.4 = 24 US$, etc... Plse Zibri don't use this to go directly to the version 99.

I unlocked mine with 2.0. But restored and jailbreaked with 2.3! is there any diference than unlocking with 2.4 or the unlock is the same?

the command line arguments are case-sensitive in this version ("ziphone -Z A" works, but "ziphone -z a" doesn´t).
On your next version, you might want to fix that (take your time releasing the new version, though..).

I have a 1.1.2 OOB (Out of Box) iPhone activated and jailbreaked with iNdependence on a Macmini with Leopard 10.5.1. I have been using a SweetSIM card in order to use phone. Weeks ago I loose the Bluetootha and after run ZiPhone 2.1 (on a PC with vista after restored with iTunes 7.5 to 1.1.3) I lost Wifi too. I have tried every ZiPhone till 2.3 and have restored to 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 many times and then run ZiPhone and the iPhone is activated, jailbreaked but with no wifi and no Bluetooth. The most extrange is that after I restore in iTunes and BEFORE RUN ZIPHONE I CAN MAKE AND RECIEVE CALLS FROM EMERGENCY SCREEN AND RECIEVE SMS TOO....??? (with my MOVISTAR SIM CARD).
I have now an iphone with:
firmware 1.1.3 , activated, jailbreaked wit NO wify nor BLUETOOTH.
I used the last time,the ZiPhone 2.3 GUI on Mac OS X 10.5.2 (Intel) with iTunes 7.6 installed.
My phone is setup to sync with iTunes on this computer.
My question is HOW could I get my iPhon be restored COMPLEATELY in order to make ZiiiPhone do theJob correctly?. Virgination?...

Can you double check your parsing of the command line options in 2.4? From looking at ziphone.cpp, it seems you enable unlocking and bootloader downgrading when "-Z N" or "-Z Y" is used.
Come on. It still not works on ipod touch. It still displays BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0.
Can you check it? And DO NOT tell us Ziphone can jailbreak touch?!

Hi Zibri, ran your ziphone on my 3.9BL iphone that was restored to 1.1.3. Worked great.
Just one question, did you add a com.apple.afc2 servcie to the services.plist so that I can continue to use iphuc? I tried to do a setafc in iphuc for windows and it didn't work.

just tried 2.4 after restoring my iphone to 1.1.3. Phone is activated with at&t, regular account.
Ran ziphone -j -u, got iPhone jailbroken and unlocked.
Things that do not work:
- Installer is unable to install packages. It fails on the package check. Could it be that it does not have the right permissions?
- MyLocation and youTube do not work, even after refresh settings

IF YOU GET "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0" ERROR, YOU CAN'T JAILBREAK.
iPod Touches or iPhones at 16GB (or 32GB?) cannot be jailbroken because ZiPhone is designed to work on only one memory chip. The address that "ZiPhone" directs to is invalid on a two-chip device. Hence the "bsd major 2" error.

Great job on the software. I had a weird issue got a an error "ERROR: ziphone returned 1". Didn't think anything of it installed my installer.apps. Everything seemed to go alright but then I restarted my iphone. It came up looked liked nothing went wrong. The iphone kept on rebooting. Had to do a restore.

1.1.1 OTB, 3.9BL, jailbroken with AppTap method (no downgrade) and unlocked with anySIM
Updated to 1.1.2 via iTunes 7.5 and jailbroken with iNdependence, and unlocked with anySIM 1.2u (for foreign carriers)
Restored to 1.1.3 via iTunes 7.6 (use alt-restore, and go to ~/Library/iTunes/Software updates)
My Tools:

Worked like a charm on both a 1.1.1 and a 1.1.3! Absolutely brilliant, thank you so much! Both phones were locked and unjailbroken. Your fix sorted that out, kept the youtube and googlemap locate working without a hitch, and gmail is fine!
I have a jailbroken 1.1.3 using Nate True's method, and I'm considering restoring it and using your hack instead, since the other two I used it on came through a lot more nicely then mine did.

Thank you so much! I had spent more than a day trying to get my iPod touch jailbroken. I finally did! After messing around for awhile, I messed it up and it died. I had to restore through iTunes as a last resort. It removed everything I had done. I had gone from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 and then to 1.1.2 and finally after waiting for an hour 1.1.3... your solution (especially the Mac OS X GUI version) is amazing. It turned my 12 hours into 45 seconds! Thank you so very much.

Just a note, there seemed to be a problem in running 2.4 on Windows Vista. I'vent confirmed it though. My friend kinda panicked ;) and I got it done on my XP box. It wasn't able to start the phone in recovery mode.

I got a OOB 1.1.2, from a friend, and he has (by mistake) updated via Itunes to 1.1.3. Im trying to use the latest version of Ziphone. It starts, and says wait 4 minutes. I have, but the only thing i see on the display is BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0 - this ust keeps running in the screen one line at a time. What gives? and what can i do to correct it. Thanks.

ZiPhone doesn't work for iPod Touch 16 GB and iJailbreak doesn't work for iPod Touch at all.... everybody is forgetting about us users of Touch 16? :(

But, I've also noticed that :
"ZiPhone does NOT change the iPhone internal IMEI.
It changes the baseband to THINK the imei is another one.
No changes are made inside the SECZONE"
My question : Could it be possible to change the internal IMEI ? in the Seczone, because, if an update of the baseband arrive, it won't work anymore...

Hello, thank you for your great. Just has a question. I used the I tunes to upgrade to 1.1.3 and then used your crack and what I noticed is that when someone calls, the voice volume is very very low. I can barely hear.. is this something to do with crack or maybe some other thing?

I don't like the -Z commands. Why not keep it as it was before? The -Z commands are very confusing as they really make any sense. Ziphone -a -j -u is easier to remember than ziphone -Z Y

Post are divided in two categories:
- the ones that got ZiPhone to work
- the ones that have had a problem (or more with it)
What drives me nuts is that the ones who have had a problem, or have a question about ZiPhone, are simply being ignored by the rest of the users. I thought a forum was supposed to be interactive and allow people to get their answers.
I, like many others here, asked about instructions on how to procede (from the moment the iPhone package arrives at our homes).
But... Nada, nothing.... Just people telling us how happy they are and others in the same deep sh*** as we will be if things mess up.
Thanks for NOT taking any time at all for helping, and for NOT posting any useful step by step guide.
When I receive my iPhone I will still have to figure out how to unlock/jailbreak it. Will I have to open iTunes when I connect it? Will I just have to connect the phone to my computer (Mac OSX 10.5.2, iTunes 7.6) and run ZiPhone WITHOUT opening iTunes? Will the iPhone be considered as "activated" once I run ZiPhone? Will I be able to sync the iPhone with iTunes without any problems? Will the iPhone be automatically upgraded or will I be able to choose?
These questions remain still unanswered, despite the many people who successfully unlocked their old AND brand new iPhones.
Sorry, but I felt somebody had to write it.
Before you ask me.. Yes, I went through this site, but didn't find any helpful information. (step by step guide).
Somebody who takes a lot of time in delievering such an easy solution should be backed up by some users who help him out by posting a guide. I consider myself knowledgeable in computers, but I don't hack 499.- USD (bought the 16GB version) phones every day. I would be disappointed and p** off if the phone doesn't work simply because I did something wrong.
Anyway... Thanks for ZiPhone and I hope all of you who "made it" are enjoying your phones :-)

ZiPhone 2.4 worked nearly perfect for me.
iPod Touch 8 GB with 1.13, never jailbreaked before, Mac OS X 10.4.10 on PPC.
Evereything seems to be allright, while at the end of the process I got an error message:
"ERROR: ziphone returned 1"

This is what I get after a restore with iTunes 7.6.
I have an OTB 1.1.2 and so far every ZiPhone worked fine for me.
I did this because I tought I need to restore and do it over and over again as soon as a new version is out.
I still have an issue with the phone not ringing when in sleep (deep sleep?) mode. (not always)

SOLVED: Looping error after rebooting
Running: 10.4.11
iphone: 1.1.3
Looks like the reason that the iphone reboots is not because of ziphone. It's because of openssh. IN particular it's when you change the passwd to your ssh in 1.1.3. It's a known issue. So you'll have to leave the default password the same until open ssh is resolved.

But still get this error so not sure why that is. It would be nice to get an understanding of that error for my peace of mind.

Also, the iphysics levels do not work in the 1.1.3 upgrade. Not sure if the behavior is due to ziphone but the fix is to ssh into the iphone and change hte permissions to "chmod 755 *.*" on the iphysics folder and contents.
Boo.. 2.3 worked beautifully but now 2.4 never gets past activation. I always get a "Ziphone returned 1" error when I try and do anything but activate. Tried restoring iphone to 1.1.3 through iTunes and starting over with no luck.

iPod 8GB is to be "ziphoned" regardless fm version
iPod 16GB is NOT to be "ziphoned" regardless fm version.
Culprit is not BL but 1 memory chip vs 2 memory chips scenario and md0: lands in the middle of address-nowhere when comes to 2 memory chip version.

Your tool works great, but my suggession is if you can add the install of BSD and SSH into you bat file. People have problem is when they see installer they just get their apps they need with haveing BSD System running. Or maybe ZiPhone installer can be modified to Ask/Warn everyone to install BSD SSH to begin.
i ran "ziphone -u" on my already jailbroken and activated 1.1.3 phone (it was 1.1.2 OTB and i had jailbroken updated to 1.1.3 and activated already) and it worked great. i took out my stealthsim card and my normal sim card works perfectly. what a great thing, that ziphone!

I used Ziphone 2.0 to jailbreak my Iphone 1.1.3. and it is now permanently frozen with the Apple Symbol Screen... I cant restore it because it isnt recognized when I dock it...still frozen.. Any ideas??? Please help!

Hi I used Your Ziphone 1.0 and it worked for me but if I try to comunicate whith my iphone with Total Commander or with iPhone Browser I can't see the directory of my iPhone but I see it as a normal ipod.
I try with Ziphone 2.0 but it's the same. iPhone Browser says that my iPhone is not jailbroken.
All is ok with winscp. I can't use winscp at home. Any suggestion?

Hold the Power + Home button till your screen goes blank, immediately leave the Power button and continue to hold the Home button, till iTunes shows you to the Restore Mode (this is the DFU mode) it the best method to restore to v1.1.2 or 1.1.3 again.
Whooaaa, your 2.4 rocks Zibri, amazing. I just returned home from a vacation in the USA, and bought a 1.1.2 with King Sim. Then the following day the 1.1.3 16gb was released, so I bought two. I came home and searched for the best u/j. I stumbled on your site - the 2.3 I couldnt get to run on XP. You then released 2.4 yesterday, so I downloaded it and ran it - seamless, perfect. The easiest way to unlock/jailbreak .... and the best part is NO turbosim or king sim etc required. Took me max 4 minutes to run the software and have a fully functioning 16gb 1.1.3 iphone. I think there is a bug if we use this tool to unlock basebandless iphone.
When executing /etc/profile, unlock could cause endless looping. So that user must shutdown the iphone. That means "nvram -d xxx" never get called. The result is whenever the user use this tool again, even only use -a -j options. The profile still executing previous options, because it is not cleared.
Since /usr/bin/nvram boot-args="" didn't get called as well, the following reboot actually re-using "setenv boot-args rd=md0 -s -x pmd0=0x09CC2000.0x0133D000" set by c++ program. You know what will happen next.
May be you guys should add extra else statement to the if(unlock) as well as other if conditions.
I also wish you guys could bring BSD-Subsystem, VT100 and hardware bootloader downgrade tool into zibri.dat. There are many hw bricked iphones which could not restore to 1.0.2. This is the only win32 tool which can jailbreak basebandless 111 and 112. However, without vt100, we could not do testpoint again.

Issue:
1. maps locate function not working
2. yahoo messed up (somehow keeps saying apple.yahoo or something like that)
3. youtube says not working but then runs

I used your tool with WinXP SP2, iTunes 7.6 and ZiPhone 2.4 the first time. My iPhoen was running 1.1.2 using TurboSIM.
Used the "all automatic" script in 2.4. Everything seemed to work fine, expect for wi-fi and bluetooth.
I tried various approached:
1. using the full reset with ziphone -e and ziphone -D and restore to 1.1.3 or 1.1.2 in iTunes
2. restore to 1.0.2, get out of recovery with iBrickr (but going to prefs already showed wi-fi greyed out..)
3. tried various combinations of ziphone 2.2 or 2.4, itunes 7.5 or 7.6, firmwares 1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.3
All leave the same sympton: wifi and bluetooth are greyed out, IMEI is ok, the baseband is shown in version 4.03.... whatever I do.

first i´d like to THANK YOU - Zibri, for that great and easy to use tool.
So I did the restore to 1.1.3 via iTunes on my 1.1.1 oob (unlocked with jailbreakme.com) and updated via anySIM to 1.1.2.
Then tried ZiPhoneOSX 2.4, everything worked find expect that it ended with this message:
ERROR: ziphone returned 1
I ignored that ;-) and restored my iTunes Backup.
Until now everything works perfekt mail, egde, youtube, wlan etc.
Maybe zibri or someone can tell me something about ERROR code 1, what does it say.

I still hear the ringer through the speakers,and I can hear the ipod and youtube through headphones,and I get a popup message that says this accessory is not intended for iphone,and it asks me if I want to turn on airplane mode,which of course I always say no to but I want to know if you have any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Hey Zibri! Great job on the ziPhone project! Just unlocked and activated mine. 1.1.2 OTB upgraded to 1.1.3. I did experience my mail not working and the Summerboard themes not loading up (except for the default ones) and I found this site that fixed my problems.

For the summerboard fix, I simply changed the owner of /var/library/summerboard from root to mobile and now it works great.

Ok guys, I just bought my ipod touch 1.1.3
and I want to watch some pdf s.
so I decided to get this ziphone 2.4 and connected my ipod with my Windows PC and made this jailbreak
and now I see Zibri s Blog Icon to connect to his page here and an other one called Install. so I press install and then instal again then I take All Packages on top, si to go to PDFViewer Version 0.03, so I press Install and again install, but there comes an "Error: Package download failed! OK"
Can someone please tell what I do wrong? coz like you see Im not a specialist :)

I have a 1.1.2 OTB, updated to 1.1.3, and then for some reason it stopped working and I have no IMEI or ICCID.
Tried using Ziphone to fix it, everything was fine but it gets suck at "spamming AT, waiting for response"
Went on the #ziphone irc.ziphone.org channel, tried registering a nickname, but it rejected every email I put in claiming them as invalid emails.
It's hard trying to get some help out here.

This is a fantastic project, and you are indeed tobe applauded for making this so usable. However, I am having a real problem ZiPhoning my 1.1.4 iPod Touch. It seems to install fine, but when the iPod reboots I get a continual scroll of 'BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0'. I then have to restore from iTunes to their version. So in summary, I cannot jailbreak this thing. I see others on the web are having the same problem. What are we doing wrong?
