I had an original 1.0.2 iPhone and upgraded to 1.1.1 used AnySim.
I recently upgraded to 1.1.2 using OktoPrep and used the Jailbreak for 1.1.2, used AnySim 1.2.1u and then upgraded to 1.1.3 with the Official 1.1.3 Upgrader.
Everything working fine, should I stay with this or should I upgrade in another way and use your software to jailbreak and unlock? Is the Official 1.1.3 Upgrade v.3 safe?
I do not know which BL I have, how can I find this?
Currently I have 1.1.3 (4A93) with modem firmware 04.02.13_G, is this OK? Will I have trouble upgrading later to future versions?

Doesn't solve the problem with iPod Touch 16 Gb. It is still the same error "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0". Too bad.

You have a bug in ziphone.cpp that causes the IMEI switch to fail. In this new version, line 348's if statement should use && instead of || to test the length of the IMEI properly. Using || causes it to always fail and return false. Hope that helps someone!

Zibri I really need some help here, i been reading this progress for several days and i can't understand the slang people use, i have a 1.1.3 Iphone from a 1.1.2 oob. I am on their contract i just want installer on my phone, i really really want it, I don't understand what i need to do or what

Alot of people are still getting the error in youtube. 'Can not connect to youtube'
So I been playing around trying to see why.
If you activate with Ziphone then youtube will not work. If you activate with iTunes it does. This is ok for people in areas that iPhones can activate but not for people have can't.
Any advice? I have tried many a youtube fixes but no go.

I unlocked my iphone 1.1.3 OOTB (even if with ZiPhone GUI 2.1, options -u -a -j, totally painless. (version 4a93, firm modem 04.02.13_g)
It works perfectly now (more or less)
Then I ran a ton of customization.
If I run ZiPhone 2.3 now, do I lose all the customization?
Is it worth to run it if everything seems fine? (I think that since I didn't use -b option, my googlempas localization won't work, but this is not a big issue for me)

I am in the US and i used ziphone awhile ago (pre 2.0) and youtube works fine for me
I alwsys fix YouTube after Ziphone, I go to installer, put i.unlock.no. then download YouTube fix trhought Installer and voila. works just fine...

when I try to change the imei I keep getting..
ERROR: ziphone returned 9
I am using a valid 15 digit imei. And the imei's that I am using are valid imei's. Which belong the other phones I own...
Did any body experienced a problem like this.. I have tried it both on 3.9 and 4.6 BL but could not succeed..

There is still something wrong with the ZiPhone...
Even if I run the simpliest "ziphone -N" which is supposed to boot an iPhone in normal mode, it still forces BL downgrader. Why does ZiPhone try to execute commands that I don't want to happen?
All in all it wouldn't be pain, if it actually was downgrading my BL. It was 3.9, but after some bricking it appears to be wiped out, and ZiPhone doesn't seem to recognise this, thus trying to downgrade it anway. Stuck at "Attempt..." scorlling down the screen endlessly.
what can I say that hasn´t been said....oh I know......not only does your software make it so f.... easy for me, it even repairs my broken (f....up) iphone. Not even the guys at the apple-store couldn´t help....they said it was something with the SIM-card?!?

I live in Canada, and used ziphone to jailbreak and activate and my YouTube works perfectly.
I agree with the comment about hosting somewhere else as well as rapidshare. With the speed of your releases, and quick bug fixes, when I try to download the newest version I can't because I just downloaded.

I upgraded with ITunes to 1.1.3 and ran ziphone 2.2. Everything works except for Edge. I can connect using wifi but not with edge. Will Ziphone 2.3 resolve this issue.

Does ziphone 2.2 work in os x tiger? I can't seem to find the mac binary for ziphone 2.3 anywhere..
any chance getting 4.03 baseband on BL4.6 unlocked?
Also, how stable is the bootloader downgrade? Haven't tried ziphone yet (on holiday), but doesn't the -b option downgrade the bootloader?
@jim: If you read the readme file you would find your answer. When using the -b option the bootloader gets downgraded, the baseband 4.03.13_G gets saved and it gets unlocked.
@Zibri: You can use www.mediafire.com to upload files. Theyre fast and theyre free :)
regarding Youtube issues:
i had a brand new iPhone 1.1.2 and after i run ZiPhone -a -j -u then i open up youtube and itunes music store on iPhone but they didn't work...
hook up the iPhone to your computer and open iTunes 7.5 and it asked me to name the new iPhone then i gave it a name then eject the iPhone and youtube and others all work fine.

Respect. It worked for me after some tries. Looks Like it freezes after start. I stopped, quitted ZiPhone and shutted down the iphone 1,2 times, then it runs through. Very nice how the script floats on the iPhone screen. Actually the OSX GUI

I'm trying to do this on a mint out of the box 1.1.3 16gb phone and I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 and as someone previously mentioned I'm getting the "returned 5" ERROR message - any suggestions? Should I try with ZiPhone 2.0?

Great work on Ziphone! I'm enjoying my 1.1.3 OTB 16GB iPhone on T-mobile now!
A friend just tried to use Ziphone on a 16GB iTouch - and got the "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0" error.
I see that many other people have run into the same problem. Is this because it has TWO NAND chips?
May I suggest that you put a "WARNING" on your main page for iTouch users - so more people won't get 'bit' by this problem?

It's not a good thing to update daily and to have us as guinea pigs. You should test all your features carefully Zibri, not just release in a hurry to be better than some Dev Team. Remember your "stupid typo"? If you are unsure, just rest and release later :) It's better to you and everyone.

This is crazy indeed. I lost again youtube but I got it back.
This is how I did it:
Opened WinSCP and erased 3 files in directory /private/var/root/Library/Lockdown/:
data_ark.plist
device_private_key.pem
device_public_key.pem
Then I did what it says on top of the page http://limitededitioniphone.com/youtube-not-working-on-your-iphone-steps-to-fix/
to get in Installer the "youtube fix". Installed "youtube fix" and rebooted. At reboot phone got stuck with apple logo for a long time. Scared to death I turned it off by pressing both buttons for a few seconds. Then opened again and this time started and entered in springboard. At this point youtube didn't work. So I opened again WinSCP and noticed that the 3 files above mentioned (and other 3 backup files that appeared) have very few permissions set. So I set them to octal 0777 (rwxrwxrwx). After that youtube worked. I hope it helps somebody. Don't forget to erase all files in folders activation_records and pair_records in folder Lockdown.
Beware, I'm a big newbie, I don't really know what I'm doing (I got lucky so far). So I hope people more experienced could give a more educated advice.

Can I JUST attach the phone without going into DFU or Restore mode(without iTunes), open the GUI (2.3) and check ONLY unlock?

Zi, you are a legend. Keep up your excellent work. The OS X GUI is fab. And a note to others, it has been mentioned around, but dont activate, let iTunes do it, then YouTube will work. At least, it worked for me.

Yesterday my speaker stopped working after I installed some apps so today I restored and used 2.2 but I could not install ANYTHING from the installer. Then I restored again and used 2.3 which just came out and I still cannot install anything from the installer. My wireless connection is good. Anyone have any ideas?

I recently used Ziphone 2.2 and everything worked fine, then I went ahead install the BSD subsytem and Openssh and I lost my sound after the reboot. Then I did "Resetting All" and luckily my iphone got sound back and everything seems to work fine after that. Thanks Zibri and anyone who contribute to this great unlock. For those of you who had experiences issues such as wifi, edge, sound, or youtube, do a resetting all may helps. or you can just run the jailbreak again as many times as you like until it works. It only took less than 1 min. for each run. I did it twice due to first run had youtube connection problem and second time would fix it.
Oh Zibri, I wonder if the software will run on Window Vista 64bit.

salatagreekOK, now to all you noobies like me that struggled with the script running on the iphones and ipod touch, after much help from gooffer, and some indepth searching on the web, ive fixed my iphone, and have got it working perfectly.
a step by step instruction would be as follows

Make sure you have itunes updated

VERY IMPORTANT... DO NOT USE YOUR OLD IPOD CABLE, USE THE CABLE THAT CAME WITH YOUR IPHONE OR TOUCH MODEL.

CHOOSE A NEW USB PORT.

IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING ERRORS:
BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0, OR
CANNOT BE RESTORED (6), OR (2003)from the off position hold down the on and home buttons simutaneously, and after the apple logo comes on, release the on button only keeping the home button depressed for a further 15-20 seconds.

the windows OS will pickup the apple restore driver automatically, then proceed to restore to the current 1.1.3 via itunes.
7. Once system is restored, without closing itunes (after phone reboots), open this incredible Ziphone 2.3, and ONLY TICK the first 3 boxes...as your phone is currently set to 1.1.3. Do not click the bottom 2.

If you follow these instructions carefully, in 3 minutes from starting Ziphone, you will have an unlocked, activated and fully functional iphone/touch.

Yes, Ziphone works fine for a brand new iPhone out of the box. I've just done a new 1.1.3 and it worked perfectly, no problems with wifi or youtube.
Don't worry about the baseband, just do the jailbreak, activate and unlock options.

No need to restore anything if your speaker doesn't work. Just go to setting and do a reset. It's scary when you don't hear anything but it's just one of the settings.
Since this came out i've restored mine and re-did but for some reason 2.3 does not work for me neither did 2.2 I had to use a 1.1 from iunlock.no Anyone else?

Since tuesday I have done this with 1.1 then with 2.1 but have had issues with 2.3, then 2.3 wouldn't work and I had to use 1.1 again.?? :(

i had an 4.03.13_G that i unlocked using geohot method for 3.9 and a softupdated 1.1.3.
then i restored and used -j-a on ziphone. i had the signal but, so i decided to run ziphone with -u.
does the unlock method just fix the signal problem or does it do the anysim fix?

I have no IMEI so im guessing that may be a reson I am getting the repair needed message and I cant run the downloader program or restore program. If I change IMEI back to original should this fix these issues and what is the command line to change the IMEI.

I got a problem, I have a 1.1.2 OTB jb with bl 4.6 and working fine and i updated via ITunes to 1.1.3 by mistake...WiFi is gone... I tried downgrading to every single version available with no luck and I just tried Ziphone and i was able to unlock it but no wifi :( I did ziphone -u a couple of times with no luck. Any ideas on how can i fix this dead baseband??

This works perfect for me, excellent work. But i have tiny problem with SMS app.. When i receive SMS from my contacts it just appears the phone number instead of the Name. i tried this on my 16GB ipod touch ver 1.1.3... it shows me the BSD loop.. repeated about 5 times but no luck. was i doing anything wrong or this thing is only for 8gb itouch & iphone?
It seems if you use iTune 7.4.3 to restore firmware 1.1.3, then everthing seem to work fine after apply ZiPhone 2.3. I couldn't seen to get the youtube working if I used iTune 7.5 and newer.

I got a brand new iphone 16gb, downloaded your 2.4b latest version for the windows. Downloaded and installed iTunes 7.6.1, connected the brand new iPhone in recover mode. Ran ZiPhone. Click on the first button, unlock, activate and jailbreak.
4 minutes it worked like a charm, everything was working INCLUDING YouTube.
I then connect to iTunes, add some music files etc, sync it.
the next thing I know YouTube is NOT working. What's going on here? Is there some issue between iTunes and youtube? any suggestions?
