Does this fix the BSD Root error?
Just tried this with 1.1.1 OTB
Steps:
1. Shift-update to 1.1.3 with iTunes (without restore mode)
2. Turn off and unplug
3. Enter restore mode by holding home and pluggin in
4. ignore iTunes
5. ziphone -u -j -a
6. Wait, be happy and donate :)
Note: the batch files dont work because they use the -v flag which is on by default

There are NO youtube probs.
I don't know what do you do..
Just do a FULL restore in DFU mode to 1.1.3,
then run itunes and close it.
Then run ziphone -u -a -j
And itunes just works.

It would seem possible that the memory address you need to write to is different for the models with 2 chips.
Zibri thanks very much for your constant improvements here! Just a quick question: is there a way to unlock baseband 4.03.13_G while keeping the 4.6 bootloader. I am running 1.1.3 firmware and would prefer to keep it's corresponding baseband. Thanks!

There is really NO NEED to upgrade the bootloader to 4.6.
Since apple never upgraded the old bootloaders, bootloader 3.9 is official as the 4.6.
If in the future there will be a problem I will try to solve it.
I have A 1.1.2 OTB Iphone, could it be restored back to factory setting(4.6 bootloader) after running Ziphonne??

Well i don't know.. some people are having troubles with itunes 7.6.
And i strongly suggest 7.5.

There is a YouTube problem, but doing this will fix it....
The first thing you have to do after jailbreaking is installing BSD Subsystem and Open SSH in installer.
After that, download this file: http://soundsgood.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/files/youtube.zip
Then, you have to use a program like WinSCP (Windows) or Independence (Mac) to access iPhone file system.
Put them in the /var/root/Library/Lockdown/ folder with WinSCP or Independence.
If you don't know how to do this, I suggest going to HacktheiPhone.com for tutorials.
Also, you should see an activation record folder under lockdown. Delete any file in there.
Exit the program. Reboot your iPhone and you should have a working You Tube program now.
I ran ZiPhone v1.2 on iTunes 7.6 without a hitch.
well I got a 1.1.2 OOTB upgraded clean install to 1.1.3 .. then I ran zipone 2.1 and still end up with a youtube error ...
modem firmware is again downgraded to 4.02.13_G
bootloader is 4.6 ... so I'd say yes, youtube doesnt work ...
i am thinking about ordering an iphone to use in canada so i have been reading up on how to unlock it. i have seen stories about people "bricking" their phone and it not working anymore. obviously i am a little worried about this if i am gonna spend $500 on the phone. does anyone here know if there are ways to restore an iphone if you make a mistake somewhere in the unlocking process? i am not an experienced hacker!

lol don't you guys get it? The apple logo is there because you aren't going into -v mode. What's going behind the apple logo is the BSD root error.
He fixed the "apple bug" by forcing verbose mode so now you see what's actually erroring out behind it.

I fixed to phones with ZiPhone 2.0 for windows.
One phone is OOb 1.1.2 and the other is not 1.1.2 oob I didn't get a chance to check the version coz some noob has already worked on it and screwed it.
I have restored 1.1.3 firmware using itunes and used ziphone with -a -j -u option this initial didn't work but struck with the apple logo.
When i used the GUI after restoring the firmware 1.1.3 again. It worked straight away.
Same thing happened with the 1.1.2 OOB too. Was i doing something wrong? I mean the command parameter sequence?
Anyways in the end it all worked for me thanks a ton. Just want to bring this to your notice in case if there is something that you need to fix and i would also like to mention that the first iPhone i was talking about was not 1.1.2 it is 41 week phone. unlock worked on this with 1.1.3 f/w, so does this mean by baseband is upgraded from 3.9 to 4.6 when i upgraded to 1.1.3 using iTunes?

hi. im using itunes 7.6, have 1.1.3 OTB iphone. already activated, and was just looking for the Jailbreak.
I used the ziphoneGUI v2.1, checked the -j and -a options. i already had the iphone connected and itunes open. I clicked start, it had gotten this far:

after doing a full restore on my phone to 1.1.3 and then jb it with ziphone 2.1 let everything boot and finsh, then do a reboot, the springboard keeps trying to boot .. with only the apple logo showing .. after the jb is done it looks like the verbose log says something abt the master.passwd file but it flases so fast i can't read it ..

hmmm, restored my 1.1.2 OTB to 1.1.3 again in DFU mode (has 3.9 BL). jailbroke/unlocked with Ziphone 2.1 - turning phone off and then turning it on it just gives apple logo and spinning circle, phone vibrates every 5 seconds or so... and never gets to springboard. Nothing was installed, just restored and ziphone'd.
Any ideas on how to get it right or what I am doing wrong?

Ziphone (terminal) for Mac does activate, jailbreak and unlock a 1.1.2/1.1.3 OTB, but Installer is ruined on this version (2.1). After you install, let's say AFP (rep.frenchiphone.com) for instance, it returns to SpringBoard and the iPhone goes into a endless loop. Would you check that, please? BTW, nice icon you put in there!

I'm on a XP SP2 with a 1.1.2 OOTB, iTunes 7.5
1st Round:
First I ran Ziphone 2 days ago (the last version before the GUI appeared in package). I got the phone recognized by iTunes, synced, put it in recovery mode, then executed in command line ziphone -a -j -u. Waited 2'30" and after reboot it was unlocked and phone dialed but I had to install iWorld to make it take calls (I'm in Romania). Everithing seemed fine, only youtube said "Cannot connect to youtube" though I could watch movies already in bookmarks. Also the yahoo mail didn't check. I tried network reset, the iphone.unlock.no "YouTube activation" and limitededitioniphone.com "youtube fix" but nothing worked. I decided to not upgrade to 1.1.3 yet.
2nd Round:
Today I downloaded Ziphone version 2.1 and decided to restore to 1.1.3. So I put in DFU mode, restored to 1.1.3, after reboot unplugged, shut down and put it properly in recovery mode by pressing home button and plugging it in usb. Then I ran in console ziphone -b -a -j. Well, after it reboot it seemed unlocked (accepted the sim and phone dial in/out was working) but it seemed not activated (displayed at boot a message about SIM being different and asked to connect to itunes) and not jailbroken (the installer was missing on spring board, although it was there a link to ziphone.org). I didn't connect it to itunes and played with it a while. Youtube was working, the yahoo account checked properly (yay I said to myself). But when i connected to usb itunes said the SIM is not recognized and locked it putting the "slide to activate" slider on screen. When I put the original ATT SIM (which was activated legally when I was in USA) got out of that screen.
So I decided run Ziphone again.
3rd Round:
I put again the phone in recovery mode, ran in command line ziphone -a -j -u and from now on everything happend as in Round 1 (except it didn't need iWorld for the phone to accept calls). But Youtube and Yahoo mail again are not working although I reset the network settings. The LocateMe app put me correctly (almost) on google map.

I restored 1.1.3 Image (not update)
and run Zibri 2.1 . Everything unlocked in 2 min. seems to work nice. exept the sound. How to get the ringer with sound..????

I'd try this if I could get rapidshare to work. I know a lot of people have problem with this service so if you could host somewhere that has a better access you'd have a lot more support. I'd even donate as well like I've done already on other iPhone apps.

Hi, I ran ZiPhone 2.1 on my Mac OS X Leopard after restoring my iPhone to 1.1.3. Nothing happens to my iPhone. I don't see any text or anything appearing on the screen.
For those with issues installing OpenSSH, use Ziphone 2.0 instead. Make sure you use -v!

Hey Zipri thanks for all the hard work, I followed every step and it turned out great but I had a little problem, I updated my iPhone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 jailbreaked and unlocked it and was running on it perfect but when I updated to 1.1.3 through iTunes and then used your program to unlock it, it did great but all the programs I had before the update weren't erased but I can't find them. I go to installer and then uninstall and there they are but I can't use them. HELPPP

2 questions
1.if you have 1.1.3 OTB and you ziphone it -a -j , would it activate to work on At&t non-contract sims ? in other words would it patch lockdownd or activation in ziphone means getting rid off " Connect to iTunes" screen ?
2. in README file i read if you ziphone unlocked 1.1.3 OTB with 4.6 BL and ended up with 1.1.3 and 4.02 BB unlocked you most likely corrupted the seczone, so it recommends not to downgrade the BL to 3.9, is there a fix for the seczone ?

I don't know if it comes from my iPhone which was hardware downgraded from BL4.6 to BL3.9, or if i did something wrong but :
1. ZiPhone 2.1 is the only release which works on my iPhone. Previous release were stuck on the grey apple
2. when the phone has been powered off, the only way to power it on is to use ziphone -a -j
Here is what I did :
- phone was 1.1.2
1. downgraded phone to 1.1.1
2. revirginised the phone to be sure everything is ok
3. restore to 1.1.3
4. ziphone -a -j -u (to activate, jailbreak and unlock the phone)
phone is usable but each time it reboots, it's stuck with the grey apple and the waiting pic...
5. ziphone -a -j (to allow the phone to boot)
perhaps you have an idea to fix this ;-)

I am having a major problem with my phone. I can't unlock it. I have tried anysim, ipsf, Ziphone, you name it and I have tried it. This problem dates all the way back to 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 bricking. I don't know why but without having sucessfully unlocked my phone I was bricked with the update and I can't unlock my phone with any software. Does anybody have any ideas on what to do?

Hey, I went through the whole jailbreaking and unlocking program and it seemed to work great. I synced all my music and what-not and then I went to install some things from Installer and they wouldn't install. So I decided to reboot my iPhone. It powered down alright but wouldn't power up. I get the Apple logo and the Apple loading symbol kind of on top of it, any ideas as to what to do?

same problem, used ziphone 2.1 with my 3.9 BL after I updated with itunes 7.6 to 1.1.3 leaving my baseband on 4.3.13_G, everything was ok until booted my phone and got stuck on Apple logo with an endless rotating wheel. The and vibrating every 5 seconds. Theonly way to get it out from there was to ziphone -a -j -u again.
Now it's working but don't want to try to boot again... Some ideas?

I was wondering...
I had a 1.1.1 OTB and upgraded all the way up to 1.1.3. But something was wrong with my installer, kept getting Main Script Execution Failed message.
So i restored on iTunes, and used ZiPhone 2.1 and did Jailbreak and Activate, and didnt do the unlock because I have 3.9BL. So when it finishes, my iphone is already unlocked. Problem?
Hi, I was able to use the unlock for a ootb 1.1.3 BL 4.6 phone. I have T-Mobile USA and it seems as though the signal is very weak. Any suggestions?

AriX is trying to work with your code as well for making it work on the 16, and 32GB model ipod touches. I don't have the money to donate a touch, but a user has uploaded a memory map that might be of some help. I could do some testing for you. I just don't know how to code so I cannot help in that area.

I was using 1.1.1 ( not sure about the other details..but i upgraded to that version when I bought the iphone in october)
The only problem is.. I cant make calls!.. It dials..( no dial tone though ) and then the call fails and the same time the network bars fall to zero.. one second later the phone vibrates and the network comes back!!.. help please!..

Jailbreaked, Activated and Unlocked, but whe reboot, the endless spinning wheel at apple logo. The only way is to Ziphone AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!

Hey Zipri thanks for all the hard work, I followed every step and it turned out great but I had a little problem, I updated my iPhone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 jailbreaked and unlocked it and was running on it perfect but when I updated to 1.1.3 through iTunes and then used your program to unlock it, it did great but all the programs I had before the update weren't erased but I can't find them. I go to installer and then uninstall and there they are but I can't use them. HELPPP
hey man thanks so much. i was worried about 2 notes and 3 contacts i hadnt backed up. little did i know they wouldnt be lost! i had a 1.1.3 atnt phone and it was given to me a 1.1.3 by the apple store to replace my old one. i was so pissed when i walked out and checked the firmware because i upgraded my old one without knowing the ramifications. well my anger was ill founded thanks to you. THIS WORKS! EASIEST PC TO IPHONE JAILBREAK YET!
FYI: Yahoo! Mail / Youtube Issue Fixed for me!
Took a 1.1.1 OTB iPhone which was updated to a fresh 1.1.3 and performed the 1.1 ZiPhone Jailbreak. Everything went well except for the youtube/yahoo mail issue. Sporadic youtube connections and yahoo! mail was completely dead. I tried using the youtube fix from installer and that did nothing as I guessed.
Restored iPhone to 1.1.3 and performed the 2.1 Jailbreak and now everything is working just GREAT!

For the v2.1 it is working fine utube and safari are working fine, a minor correction in the batch file for the bootloader 3.9: the option "-v" should'nt be there since it is not longer existing and it is already booting by default in verbose mode,

i used Zifone GUI 1.1 on my iphone 1.1.3 and it unlocked everything.
able to use as normal
However, the applications i download cant be loaded when i tap on it and it will go back to Home.
First i tried running Ziphone 2.1 over it but it shows some .dat error msg.
Then i tried running GUI 1.1 again and this time my phone jammed and cant On it.
Im going to try restore it using itunes.
can anyone help me with my problem?
1. Restoring to original OTB 1.1.3
2. Able to run downloaded applications.

Redownload ZiPhone 2.2 from the FAST mirror link at the top right of this blog!
And since many asked:
If you are using turbosims, stealthsims or anything like that, remove it from phone !

my iphones still stuck on apple logo and doesn't show up in your program or itunes and im freaking out, what did i do wrong?
I believe the fix for the boot problem at apple logo is due to deleting the link to zibri's blog :) You can boot it by running ziphone -a -j using the latest 2.2 and it should clear it up.
it still doesn't identify that I have an iPhone plugged in, it says Searching for iPhone.... I am on 2.2 and trying -a -j. It continues to be a black screen with the apple logo. Please help!

Pooja .. try and update it to 1.1.4 while your iPhone is in DFU mode and then use ZiPhone 2.5c you should be fine.
im having a problem while trying downloading emails from yahoo after intalling ziphone. says the user name password its incorrect. so i went back and restore my iphone and yahoo email work perfect again , so today i installed Ziphone again and the email yahoo thing is back , yahoo is not working again. what could it be? anyone have a clue?
