ZiPhone v2.0 is finally OUT.In the command line version, you will find a new
option "-b" be very careful with that!
I take no responsability if you brick your phone!
ZiPhone -b will downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9,
flash 4.03.13_G baseband version and
unlock it (in one shot!).
It worked for me on 2 ootb 1.1.2 phones.
It will work on 1.1.3 ootb phones too.
Other options are unchanged.
Do not forget to donate!

Using the OSX GUI -
I restored 1.1.3 before proceeding, after the restore, I left iTunes on and launched ZiPhone 2.0
I checked Jailbreak, Activate, Verbose and Unlock (Only for 4.6 BL).
Hit start, took it's couple minutes, restarted, I put in my SIM card, and voila, all working. First thing is, with other versions of ZiPHone the SIM was getting no signal, sot hat's great, but then
I went to google maps to try the localization thing, knowing it wouldn't work because I didn't downgrade yet and.. what is my surprise, it actually worked and pointed to 1km away from my house.
I thought the localisation didn't work on 4.6, so did the GUI downgrade to 3.9 anyway? I noticed it took a minute longer than version 1.1 did and the verbose was sliding a lot slower, so did it matter that I didn't have the option to downgrade checked, it downgraded anyway?
How can I check my bootloader version?

I spent hours trying to do this and finally got it to work.
If you have a mac it's WAY easier.
I used:
Macbook
iTunes 7.5
16gb iPhone obviously 1.1.3
PC was being a pain
Then I tried mac on 7.6 and it didn't work BUT I unchecked Verbose boot (debug) in the program when I did this.
I then (painfully) went down to 7.5 iTunes and then in ZiPhone ticked Jailbreak, Activate, kept Verbose boot ticked and also ticked unlock.
It goes to the black screen with the apple then goes into a whole heap of text. Be patient. It WILL work.
This was a 16gb out of the box from US done in Australia.
I'm not sure if downgrading to iTunes 7.5 made a difference but having Verbose boot ticked is a MUST.
Good luck and many thanks Zibri. It took me 3 hours to do something which eventually only took 2 minutes, but hopefully you all get it working first try.

Verbose boot
Unlock
You must have Verbose boot ticked so you don't just get the black screen and apple. It takes just over 2 mins and to be working you will see heaps of writing then a globe.
I don't think 7.5 or 7.6 will make a difference but I downgraded just to be sure.
Be patient with it

if ur not sure how to use a cmd line i suggest you don't attempt to hack ur iphone lol. or maybe use the gui if you must i guess
***APPLE LOGO SOLUTION!***
OK, i had a 1.1.2 OTB, had all the problems with the Apple logo screen, but now i'm jailbroken. . . heres how (used ziphone 2.0):
1. MANUALLY put iphone in restore
- connect to itunes, unplug, power off, then hold home button while connecting cable back in...
2. RUN ziphone, (i steered clear of the GUI, so here's how:)
- START, RUN cmd...in cmd, enter " cd desktop/ziphone " (move ziphone folder to desktop)
- enter " ziphone -v -j " (i'm with AT&T so only needed jailbreak put in what you need)
- let the magic do its work.
HOWEVER. . .
I NOW HAVE NOOOO SOUND and NOOO SERVICE... wifi works and so does bluetooth, but without the phone part i'm lost!!
*I restored back to the regular, and here's how:
-same way as above to get into restore mode, but got an error message... DON'T WORRY, just unplug iphone and try again. 2nd time worked... I WILL WAIT FOR A MORE HASSLE FREE, PROBLEM FREE WAY TO JAILBREAK, BUT THANKS A MILLION ZIBRI!! I ALREADY DONATED FOR THE GREAT EFFORT!!
(i came across several problems after having the jailbroken 1.1.3, such as the keyboard working really slow, the switching between screens of apps going haywire, and what i already mentioned of NO sound and NO service...)

Zibri thanks for this app you are a life saver. i just have a small issue. i did the ziphone and method without a hitch but when i went to my youtube i get a "cannot connect to youtube" i used the cmd way and i use -j -a -v to get it to work did i forget to use one of the cmd's? i have a 1.1.3 iphone 4.6 bl at&t activate contract

After use Ziphone with my 30 pcs iphone this morning. I found the same errors on those phone:
- Can't use Iphoneinterface
- Can't Slide the SpringBoard
- Installer work not good.

Everything is working quite good now Zibri Great work!
Though at one point after running the program using the -j -a -v switches
the phone rebooted into Singleuser mode and I had to recover from that before continuing.

I tried both 2.0 versions: command line and just added OSX gui:
I restored my iPod touch, with 1.1.1 OOB and updated in the last month, to 1.1.3 with iTunes. So, I have an iPod with blank 1.1.3.
When I issue ./ziphone -j -v
or I use the GUI to jailbreak+verbose,
it start working, and at the end of the process it gets stuck and writes on the screen of the iPod:
"BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0"
infinitely. lines appears about every 5 seconds, they fill up the screen and nothing happens. I left it working for all the night, and it didn't work.
Is there a fix?
can anyone confirm that this does NOT break the wifi/bluetooth on a 1.1.3 OOTB iphone. As I understand it downgrading the bootloader (-b) is not nessesary in order for this to work.

Dude - I was stupid and tried to upgrade while in Switzerland. I put my phone out of commission for 2 days and went into withdrawl from access to the world. I found your site and followed your YouTube video after trying all this downgrade / reflash steps that weren't working. You're easy GUI and process fixed my issues in less than 10 minutes! Thanks!

Zibri, I think I accidentally unlocked my iPhone with your tool. I just wanted to jailbreak, but I got the Apple logo and tried something else, then suddenly I saw a bunch of text on my iphone, it restarted and I was back in business. Jailbroken.
But I think more was done. How can I check what boot-loader I currently have and if my phone is locked or not?
I am with AT&T so I didn't really need the unlock.

Login to winscp with your ip adres. Check your IP in settings, wifi and then blue arrow.
Username : root
Password: alpine
If you can’t connect, change file protocol
Put BBupdater in /usr/bin
Remove .txt from file
Click rightmouse on file and put permissions to 755
Close WINSCP
Open putty
Give ip adres and username (root) and password (alpine)
Put this in terminal:
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
cd /usr/bin
bbupdater -v
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
You can copy and past in putty (just click rightmouse to past)

ziphone ruined my phone
I had otb 1.1.2 jailbreaked with turbosim
I started Ziphone and pressed unlock. Phone restarted into recovery mode and program said 2.30 minutes to go. The same time itunes started and said that another program is updating iphone. i closed itunes.

Success and everything working prefect: activated, jailbroken and unlocked (not BL downgraded)
I used: iPhone UK 1.1.2 OTB week 43, Nate's software upgraded to 1.1.3; TURBO SIM, intel MacBook Pro; Mac OS Leopard 10.5.2 (latest version)
1) Launched ZiPhone 2.0 GUI mac
Restored successfully to 1.1.3 in iTunes with my simcard (not O2 sim) without the TURBO SIM
2) iTunes wont recognize sim after restore is finished so I inserted O2 sim
3) iTunes now recognizes sim and leads me to the official activation screen
4) Closed iTunes
5) unplugged iPhone and put it in restore mode (switched off and then plugged to the computer while pressing home button until cable-dock and iTunes image showed on iphone's screen)
6) iTunes lauches and tells me it has found an iPhone in recovery mode- pressed OK - closed iTunes
7) checked relevant boxes (including Verbose) in ZiPhone GUI - start
8) I did not touch anything during the process
9) Everything went fine. I could even restore my iPhone settings from iTunes' back-up

I used ziphone 1.2. It worked the 2nd time adding the verbose boot param. Now everything's fine EXCEPT there is no EDGE under settings>general>network. Only vpn, wi-fi, roaming. That means I can't change apn etc.
Any idea?
I spoke too soon.... Mail is crashing, won't open. Tried deleting the account in the preferences to recreate them, but preferences crashes when I delete one of the accounts [I have 2 setup] Tried deleting the one that didn't crash preferences and then exit, but when I went back into preferences, it was still there, so it looks like it's not saving the change. Used BossPrefs to turn both accounts off, that saved. Opened Mail and it came up to the window to setup a new account, then crashed.

I believe either apple or o2 have blocked my iphone, therefore I cannot use any call or text functions. Is there a way to unblock this. Jailbreak, activation, restoration of firmware, unlocking and changing of imei doesnt seem to make a difference.
I left o2 sim ard in phone and use o2 sim to activate it. I am in london.
I changed my imei number and now the phone is working without me even unlocking. My problem is htough rhat I dont know what to hange the imei number to because my old imei number doesnt work anymore!

I also had a lot of problems with Edge in the last two weeks (not related to ziphone) and am quite proficient with it now.
Two things yoo should do first :
1. Reset your network settings
2. Find out which carrier.plist you are using
The problem might be that your carrier.plist file is not readable. Have a look at /System/Library/Carrier Bindles/
You should be proficient in UNIX/Linux and set the rights mask to 644. (chmod 644 carrier.plist)
Also have a look at what's inside. You may learn a lot :-)

I am new to this and I realized that I better ask before I completely brick my phone
History:
3 days old iphone
8GB (1.1.3 OTB I guess)
downgraded to 1.1.1 jailbroke/unlock
upgraded to 1.1.2
Used with a german o2 simcard
got good signal but BUG? lost signal when put on sleep (power button)
decided to upgrade to 1.1.3 to maybe fix this but by accident did it through iTunes and there I was with a locked iphone again.
Did again the whole procedure but now I have a different problem I get only little signal or better NO SERVICE
I also tried ziphone after I restored from iTunes (didn't try the -b option yet)
Currently I have 04.02.13_G on a 1.1.3 (I guess that's not the best is it?) and still have the problem

I really need some help on this feel desperate!
HISTORY:
3 days old 8GB iPhone (I guess 1.1.3)
downgraded to 1.1.1 jailbroke/unlock/activate following i.unlock.no (just one day before Ziphone - so bad luck)
then upgraded to 1.1.2 and used iWorld to make it work with my German O2 simcard
Was working with one BUG: lost signal after I put the phone to sleep but regained when on
I thought upgrading back to 1.1.3 would fix it but I did the mistake by accident to do it through iTunes
Phone was of course locked again so I followed again the procedure from the beginning.
PROBLEM:
Now I have a NO SERVICE or very low signal :( . Other functions seem to work ok
I also restored 1.1.3 using iTunes and then run ZiPhone 2.0. I seemed to be working but didn't fix the low signal problem. I also have a very strange icon next to the battery icon

I didn't try the -b option of Ziphone yet. Do you think it can help? if so do I run that only and then the rest or all together?

I posted I had a you tube fix earlier, so by popular demand, here it is:
The first thing you have to do after jailbreaking is installing BSD Subsystem and Open SSH in installer.
After that, download this file: http://soundsgood.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/files/youtube.zip
Then, you have to use a program like WinSCP (Windows) or Independence (Mac) to access iPhone file system.
Put them in the /var/root/Library/Lockdown/ folder with WinSCP or Independence.
If you don't know how to do this, I suggest going to HacktheiPhone.com for tutorials.
Also, you should see an activation record folder under lockdown. Delete any file in there.
Exit the program. Reboot your iPhone and you should have a working You Tube program now.
For your reference, I had a virgin 1.1.2 phone and upgraded to 1.1.3 with 04.03.13_G firmware to start with and I ran ziphone –a –j –u

Just on a sidenote, the OS X 2.0 GUI still says that unlocking and imei changing is only for BL 4.6
I have one iphone which was unlocked with IPSF on 1.0.2. Can I upgrade to 1.1.3 and unlock with ziphone. Because I want to get rid of IPSF. I do not have any backups of my seczone or anything else.. I have updated and restored many times ...

I brought new 8gb on 14 Feb 08. Tried ziphone 2.0 GUI on new phone . Selected unlock,activate, Jailbrake. My phone is struck with apple logo . Nothing is working . I tried with home+sleep button holding for 30 sec. How to get rid of this apple logo screen.

All who have a question about upgrading from 1.0.2 to 1.1.3, here is how I did it.
1. Restore your iPhone to 1.1.3 using iTunes 7.5 (if you have any other version, uninstall it and install version 7.5)
2. Unplug iPhone from your computer.
3. Reboot iPhone
4. Plug it back in
5. Close iTunes and Kill iTunesHelper and iPodService using windows task manager
6. Open Command prompt, navigate to Ziphone folder
7. ziphone.exe -j -a -u -v
8. Wait for a couple of minutes
9. You are all set

SOLUTION FOR YOUTUBE:
I had done some more research on other forums etc. It seems, for those users with legitimate AT&T service, not using the -a -u flags will do the trick. So after restoring to my previous 1.1.3 install, I simply ran ziphone -j -v (since all I really needed was to jailbreak the phone), and youtube seems to work fine.
I had researched parts of the solution you make mention of... and noticed there were folks who made an apptapp application to fix those three youtube files for some users. So it sounds like the solution may depend on whether you have the legitimate ATT sim/service or not... for those with it, simply restore, then run ziphone -j -v ... for those without it, they may need to follow your method or use the apptapp programs to free up youtube.

Why would I want to change my IMEI? Is it true that apple and networks are tracking these? I have t-mobile service and have not setup my iphone yet to work on the t-mobile network. Would the phone be grey or blacklisted if I use the IMEI that is on the iphone? Can I use the imei from my nokia 6600 that is on the network now on the iphone? Also this iphone could be on the warm side (8g $140), would it be a good idea to change the imei for that reason as well.

Phone fully unlocked and activated. Everything works.
I previously installed iTunes 7.5, upgraded to 1.1.3 and then run ziphone.exe with all options at the same time.

Hello i have an iphone with Unknown Imei and i run the Ziphone 2.0
when I get any command like ziphone -u it work and then restart and get stuck on apple logo
so i try to use Ziphone -v -b
and my iphone start to show a lot os letters and it stuck at a line that said

Spamming AT, waiting for a response
I wait like 2 hours and nothing happen
then i restart the iphone and again i see the letters and it get stuck at a line that said

Hey, thynks a lot, Zibri! It's obviously the best solution to jailbreak/activate/unlock. I just updated my iPhone (1.0.2 OTB) to 1.1.3 using the iTunes Restore, started the OSX-Version of ZiPhone 2.0, activated all required buttons (Jailbreak/Activate/Verbose boot/Unlock) and started it. After less than three minutes everything worked perfectly (iTunes 7.6 was running all the time)! The next step was donating, even before syncing :-)

I have a 1.1.2 OTB iPhone upgraded to 1.1.3 via iTunes version 7.6. I run ziphone 2.1 with the -j options (no -v because they took it out as it is now default) and it seems like it works, and reboots just fine. Problem is, when the iPhone reboots, there is no Installer icon in the launcher. The console program even says "done". I am using Windows XP by the way.
After a lot suck (unlock.no, ziphone 2.0) with OTB 1.1.2. finally i restored it with itunes 7.5 normally to 1.1.3.
On windows, command prompt, iTunes closed:
-j -a -v
then
-u -v
all works fine, Hungary Hungarian operator, without iWorld.

I used ZiPhone 2.0 on my 1.1.3 and it worked fined. Although I didn't see any improvement with my signal quality. Basically I cannot used the phone. I used Ziphone again with -b option and now I have 3.9 BL. That didn't help for signal either.
Questions:
Can I go back to the 4.6 BL at some point?
Any ideas about the signal problem?
I tried restoring to factory from iTunes but after Ziphone it crashes...

I have a 1.0.2 version upgraded through 1.1.1 to 1.1.3 ( via itunes ). Firmware is 04.03.13_G. I couldn't get the gui version to work ( kept saying wrong zibri.dat verion ! ). Ran all sections through the command prompt successfully, BUT, it still will not accept another sim. No error message, but fails to recognise the sim to use. the IMEI is 00 499901, is this possibly the cause, or have I missed something along the way?
all is working fine, the only problem is that ringtones do not work, only vibrate, does anyone have a solution???

Hi, i have and ipod touch OTB 1.1.2, i found this program but i have a problem.
I'm using Ziphone 2.5 for mac.
I connect my ipod and then i run the jailbreak, a lot of commands appear on ipod screen and start scrolling down.
Then in the ipod screen, appears BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0.
I don't know what happen, it continues appearing all over the screen, and again again again.
i left my ipod plugged, like for 2 hours, and when i came back the ipod was with the same command.
what do i do?
