option "-b" be very careful with that!

ZiPhone -b will downgrade bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9,
flash 4.03.13_G baseband version and
unlock it (in one shot!).
It worked for me on 2 ootb 1.1.2 phones.
It will work on 1.1.3 ootb phones too.
Other options are unchanged.

About the new bootloader downgrade option, as I understand it, geohot is working on a modified 4.6 bootloader, which has a patched seczone and is 'unlocked' by default. It seems however that it will only work on bootloader 4.6 and not on 3.9; on the assumption that it will ever be released, or that an entirely opensource replacement bootloader is released, will be able to just re-upgrade the already downgraded 3.9 bootloader (or for people with the original 3.9 BL on their iPhones) to this new bootloader?
There is something else that is a little bit striking for me. On the past you said that you didn't want anyone's money, and that you wouldn't take donations and even pointed the finger over those who did. But now, after the insistence of people on your blog, you setup a paypal account and now you are even encouraging everyone to donate. Isn't this a little double standard? Please don't get me wrong on this as I am not attacking you, I just want to know if you changed your position entirely or something else happened?

ZiPhone 2.0 uses the exploit found by geohot but it flashes the original 3.9 bootloader not a patched one.
I thought that was much safer.
1.0.2 Phone should need to be virginized only if you used the fisr iunlock to unlock them (the one that fucked many phones thanks to "dev team" and that iPhone-Elite fixed with virginizer thanks to Fred_ and a few others.

Yes, it's recommended that you Virginize before you upgrade.
Nevertheless, I'm unaware whether with Zibree's method you need to Virginize or not.

Try putting your phone into Recovery Mode manually. The best practice is to hold the Power + Home button till the time it takes you to the Recovery Screen. Your phone will boot twice while your holding the two buttons at once.
P.S. Use iTunes 7.5
When using ZiPhone, do I have to
1. Keep iTunes running or disconnect iPhone from iTunes? Since it's automatically brought up when iPhone is connected.
2. When ZiPhone says "Entering recovery mode", does that mean I have to manually do it now or ZiPhone has done it for me?
Kinda confusing and I managed to brick my iPhone now with ZiPhone 2.0, which has never happened to me no matter how I upgrade/downgrade from 1.0.2, 1.1.1 to 1.1.2.

FIRST OF ALL ZIPHONE 1.2 WILL WORK WITH BOTH BOOTLOADERS. DISREGARD THAT ITS VERSION 1.0 IN THE README FILE
IF YOU GET STUCK WITH THE APPLE LOGO, HOLD BOTH POWER AND HOME BUTTONS FOR 30 SECONDS WITH YOUR PHONE DOCKED. DO A RESTORE IN ITUNES TO 1.1.3 (NO SHIFT KEY)
SO IN OTHER WORDS WHAT YOU NEED IS
1. PHONE IN 1.1.3
2. HAVE .NET FRAMEWORK 2 INSTALLED
DOWNLOAD IT FROM MICROSOFT WEBSITE)
3. ZIPHONE 1.2 MAKE SURE ITS EXTRACTED TO YOUR C DRIVE (C:\ZIPHONE)
4. ITUNES 7.5 AND 7.5 ONLY (IT DIDNT WORK FOR ME IN 7.4 OR 7.6)

When I say stuck at apple logo I mean that ziphone does not go any further than Searching for iPhone and iTunes does not find the iPhone anymore. Will it help if I run ziphone -b -v? What is the risk if I do that? Any other solution apart from downgrading the bootloader?

ok i just did zphone 2.0 everything work perfect. but when you follow this tutorial and add appsupport something messes up. i followed this tutorial to a tee. i don't it twice and same result once you finish copy the files over and power down the phone to reboot and power up again. it's stuck on the imfamous white apple logo. i have to put in recovery mode restore 1.1.3 via itunes and run ziphone 2.0 again. so ziphone does not seem to be compatible with adding appsupport for unsupported country unless i did something wrong but i followed the tutorial word for word. still a few bugs!!! so if you live in a unsupported country i wouldn't try ziphone method. ANY IDEAS ZIBRI PLEASE.

zphone does not work when you try to add appsupport for unsupported country. after you copy the files over and power down to reboot and the power up it's stuck with white apple logo. any ideas what do to do. i've done it twice with 2.0. i have to put in restore mode and restore via itunes to 1.1.3 and run 2.0 again. it unlocks everthing works but phone crashes when calling, need to add appsupport but cant. any thoughts?

in 1.1.3 you DO NOT need to patch appsupport.
The problem with "unsupported countries" and the phone options (phone, sms) is fixed.
I live in an unsupported country and in 1.1.3 everything works right off the bat.
ZiPhone use all best methods together:
geohot bootloader exploit (but not with a patched bootloader, but with the original!)
for unlocking 4.03 i use the same method of AnySim 1.3.
The SECZONE is never touched by ZiPhone in any way.
ZiPhone is SAFE.
(maybe the bootloader dowgrade can be riskier.. but never failed so far!)

I was on 1.1.2 + DEV softupgraded to 1.1.3
This morning, I upgraded/restored iPhone in iTunes to 1.1.3 and did run ZiPhoneGUI, so got jailbroken and activated, but : NO SIGNAL
I have tried everything, did thigns over 3 times, no signal ... ???

ZiPhone worked great for me with 1.2, except for the issue with file access. It seems like using this doesn't fully jailbreak everything. iPhoneList and iPhoneBrowser have no access, nor can i login using Term-VT100.
Does 2.0 fix this issue at all? Or is there a patch that can be applied via installer to get file access back?
