I tried your software, cause it was allmost ot good to be true. But it seems like mu Iphone is now a paper weight. I used the program as written, but the only thing that happens with the phone now is that the Apple logo (when booting) appears, and nothing else happens, except for the odd blink in the logo. I afraid that my phone is f...... Dou Youhave any idea on how i can put it back to life?

I have the same problem as Maika: I only see the apple logo, that flashes every few minutes. Its a 4.6 1.1.2 UK phone, legit updated to 1.1.3 & activated (valid O2 iPhone contract). I just wanted to jailbreak it.

I don't get it. I used every version of this program. unlocked/jailbroken 15 phones already.
All versions works flawlessly on everyphone, 3.9 and 4.6

exactly bart we're not suppposed to make it work because this program is supposed to be so eeasy that you dock your iphone and just click what you want to do and it's apparent that me and like 5 others already in these comments say it doesnt work, so you tell us what to do since you've done 15 phones 'flawlessy' with this program
*shrug* me neither. putting it back in dfu mode and restoring 1.1.3 obviously makes it work 100% again, except it ain't jailbroken :)

I am gaving a similar problem to others..Maika and dw....please help. My Iphone is now a paperweight with a black screen and silver apple logo.
I got a version 1.1.2 with BL 4.6. I jailbreaked it, and upgreaded to version 1.1.3. about 2 weeks ago. Today I ran Ziphone's program and it ran for about 10 minutes without doing anything. Then I cancelled and now my iphone is useless. Please help Iphone gods!

This program has bricked my phone at least 5 times. I have to keep restoring it on my mac. I am not sure how to use this program on the mac mostly because im a Mac noob. I don't understand why when i run the program on PC though that it essentially bricks the phone(apple symbol appears and you can't soft shut it down or anything. Only hard reset works and you must go right into restore mode)

just connect it with the usb cabel and hold the HOME and SLEEP/WAKE Button for a long time. it should in recovery mode and u can just reinstall the latest version.

if you have an iphone with black screen with an apple logo thas silver in the middle. you have to put your phone into restore mode(DFU mode) then restore to the latest(or whatever version you want to use) through Itunes.

like me, however it may take a few tries to get the iphone to do what is expected.
Put it back in DFU mode by holding home+power for 10 seconds, and releasing power and holding home for at least 10 more seconds -- iTunes will pop up with a message. Then use option-restore to restore the specific firmware you need (just follow the instructions of any jailbreak method you used before).

I used the gunlock program viaa Installer and I get NO SERVICE. I tried 1.1.3, 1.1.1 and my native 1.1.2.
My phone is bootloader 4.6 at 1.1.2 and it was originally 1.1.2otb.
Does this program help me? If no, what should I do??
i have sucessfully done 3 1.1.3 otb and one 1.1.2 that i first upgraded to 1.1.3 with itunes.
now i am trying to one that has been bricked was 1.0.2 bl 39 to get alive
Mac Users, you may try to:
1. unzip the ZiPhone folder to your desktop;
2. open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities);
3. type "/Users/yourname/Desktop/ZiPhone/ziphone -j" (without quotes) and press Enter;
Please note on Step 3 that "yourname" means your user name as it appears on your home directory and the argument "-j" is for jailbreaking zhe iPhone. For other tasks, please use the other arguments, as decribed above.
Remember that Unix commands, arguments and names are CaSe SEnsiTive!

Doesn't work for me with MacOS X 10.5.2 and iTunes 7.6. The iPhone reboots but nothing happens, still jailed. Tryed it also with VMWare and WindowsXP (iTunes 7.6) but with the same Error. Reboot and still jailed.
Hmmm, i'm having similar trouble to others, i've tried 4 times to -a activate and -j jailbreak a
4.6BL 1.1.3 (1.1.2 OTB)
And it always reboots after it starts in DFU mode then stays on the silver apple screen.
I tried both mac and windows, the latest version, and followed instructions on iclarified
i'm definitely not doing anything much different to other people
this version 1.1 still does not work on neither INTEL or PPC macs with iTunes 7.6
now a different error:

Just a note, both of this mac are used only to unlock / activate iPhones they have been work perfectly with all other methods.
The Windows version is working perfectly.

fujiwara. why dont u try with the full unlock command? as in ./ziphone -a -j -u

A SMALL HINT!
if your phone still only displays the "Slide for Emergency" stuff, but unlock, jailbreak and activation seem to work.
you might want to think about USING ANOTHER SIM-CARD then the AT&T one!
INSERT THE NEW SIM-CARD and REPLACE THE AT&T ONE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE IT!

just tried the new release. itunes 7.6 os x 10.5.1. 16GB 1.1.3 OTB. worked perfectly, took just a few minutes. installer app works, nothing broken.

Nope, i'm runnig leopard 10.5.2 so i don't think that's problem, more likely it compatible only with 10.5.1 because someone just said it worked for him running 10.5.1, anyway it's late here (where i'm from) i don't care about this iphone, i have another i'll just fix this one tomorrow, probably zibri will fix the os x version as well so i don't have to go through the hole upgrade/downgrade process..it pisses me off, good night all
I was able to unbrick the phone and get it back to square one. Now everytime I try and run the Ziphone program it stalls and i have to unbrick it again. BAck to square one. I tried to activate, jailbreak and unlock with ziphone but same outcome each time...like shaq shooting freethrows...brick brick brick.

make sure you are plugged into the computer. hold down the home button and sleep for 20 sec until you see itunes logo

I had the silver apple problem.
What worked for me was using

if anyone is getting the SLEEP symbol reference error, this is because the OSX version was compiled for osx 10.5. Thankfully because zibri included the sources, ive compiled it for 10.4. here:

The current links have not worked for me, neither the GUI or command prompt after several attempts, just got the white apple logo. The GUI from the below link worked the first time in under a minute, be sure you have .net framework v.2.0.

I have followed the iClarified tutorial with Ziphone 1.1(not containing Mobiledevice.framworks ):
-just doing what you said = no result (same SLEEP thing)
-renaming your file and replacing original "ziphone" = terminal said "permission denied"
-adding the .app extension = still nothing
-adding .zip extension to your file and unzip = was not zip file

I've had this 11246 brick laying around with broken BBand "iPhone needs repair..." error since I tried the Official 1.1.3 Upgrader v1.0 via Installer 2 weeks ago - tried EVERYTHING at least twice.
Plugged in a tried ZiPone this AM - WHY NOT!
And I'll be darned, it was back up with my China Netcomm SIM working in, like 5mins - awesome.
Few minor glitches - no WiFi and no iTunes sync (iTunes doens't even know it'd there??!!).
But at least I have a phone now! Cool - well done crew.

after performing the unlock i had no Signal,
so i taught it needed Virginising baseband like for the earlier models,
so i went for "ziphone -e" mode
so after that i got an error message on iphone that the phone needs repair and it cant make calls
when trying to restore it, it gives an error 1064.

not sure if this is related... but my wifi signal strength is showing lower than normal. macbook shows all bars... iphone next to it, 1. move iphone on top of access point... still one bar. turn wifi on and off. joins network, all bars show. read mail, view webpages, ets (use that connection). watch bars fall off. rinse, wash, repeat.

if anyone is having trouble with getting no service:
first, click this link to download signal.app http://www.eliassen.co.uk/files/signalapp.zip
Put the Signal.app in your iPhone’s /Application directory (Signal.app is a directory too). Make sure signal.sh and igsm have executable rights (use your SFTP/SCP program or chmod u+x signal.sh && chmod u+x igsm). Signal.app can be found here. You have to restart your iPhone (or Springboard) in order to see the new app. You have to run Signal.app every time you boot your iPhone to get a signal because the 1.1.3 baseband adds some more checks to see if a valid carrier-SIM is inserted.

Nearly perfect - 1.1.2 OOTB upgraded to 1.1.3 via iTunes, downgraded iTunes to 7.4.2 as recommended somewhere - run ZiPhone 1.0 (-a -j) and 2 minutes later ready.
Only uTube seems not to load correctly nevertheless displays the bookmarked movies.
2 Questions
a: - should I revert using the new ZiPhone 1.1 or does this make no sense
b: is downgrading iTunes always neccessary?

Question: I'm still on version 1.02 with my iPhone because i've not the time to upgrade it to every minor change. My question now: Must i make an upgrade in iTunes first (Show me only 1.2 as an option) and then run ziphone? Thanks for any help and also big compliments. i managed to get my phone working again ( i had deleted the baseband by using ziphone -e, command.
the Signal window was empty , so i taught we have to eraze the bootloader, and i tried updating with itunes it didnt work aswell,
later i installed newer version of Itunes and got it updated,
and performed the unlock, many a times the unlock is not working , no i tried the GUI version on
iphone.unlock.no- it worked ( for activation ).
-i still wasnt recieving Signal, so i installed BSD subsystem and installed AnySIM 1.3 for 3.9BL
it worked, i have signal now, but the porblem is that , it has Gone Mute,
it only Vibrates on Phone calls and sms's
and the preview in the Settings window is not working either.
i had 1.0.2 earlier , i did the upgrade to 1.1.1 long bak. now am on 1.1.3

for the people that are getting the apple logo and are stuck on it, use a earlier version, there is a bug with ZiPhone 1.1 and you should use 1.0.

Hi, my 1.1.2 OTB has the no sigal problem after activating and jailbreaking after a restore to 1.1.3. I would like to keep the newer baseband so don't want to do an unlock. I am using an O2 PAYG SIM (ie. not on a contract). Is there anyone who has had any success in getting a signal in this situation - I mean people with 4.6BL. Has anyone with 4.2BL and the newest baseband found a version of signal.app that works for them?

OK. Everyone who is stuck on the Apple Logo, please try this. I am using a mac with 10.5.2 and iTunes 7.6. After running "ziphone -a -j -u" from the terminal window, my iPhone was also stuck at the Apple logo. I then held down the home button and power button until the iPhone went into recovery mode. Go back to the terminal window and run the command "ziphone -v". You should see a bunch of text start scrolling across the iPhone. When it finishes it will restart and should start working OK. It did for me at least. I have already did this with 2 iPhones now.

okay, shortly for the guys like me, who tried around with no it master knowlege.
i copied all the data to my home folder: ~/User/yourname and runned ziphone via terminal with: "./ziphone -a -j -u -v" (don´t forget the -v not to get stucked in recovery mode like i did several times!!!), then you see the searching for phone.....
i connected the switched off phone to the computer while holding the home button pressed. you see working
wait 2`30``
and you phone starts to show up an very very long list of words, letters, numbers and sentences what it is doing right now.
the final sentence: enjoy your unlocked iphone

By the way i freshly restored the phone via iTunes before doing that and kept iTunes running, even iTunesHelper doesn`t bother. That´s it no AnySim or NextSim requiered.

for starters let me tell u one thing:
dont do anything, just unpack the phone,
get the phone in dfu mode(sleep/wake+home but. for 10sec)
open ziphone 1.0 or 1.1
check the boxes u want to perform
and press start
thts it
ur done
kk problem solved, u ised the binary for OSX 10.4
id dint work just with the -j, i had to use -j -a -u

i had a similar prob,
but it was solved when i kept shifting from The GUI to Command line interphase
, u need to install BSD subsystem then install AnySIM 1.3 in order to unlock the sim
and about the activation- i know its a pain, as it remains locked,
try both versions GUI and CUI
i did wiv 1.0

And do I put the Ziphone application in the applications folder or leave it on the desktop or put it in the user folder

And since many asked:
If you are using turbosims, stealthsims or anything like that, remove it from phone !
You don't need them anymore (for now)
I have tried this ziphone application throught the Mac Terminal.

I had the iphone jailbroken with independence and was waiting on the update for 1.1.3 (I had reverted it back to 1.1.1) but had firware 04.03.13_G.
I did what is said and upgraded through iTunes 7.6
to 1.1.3.
ITunes won't let me locate the older version of 1.1.1 anymore and iTunes 7.6 won't let me re-install an older version of iTunes (7.4 etc.)
I'm really stuck on this one.

I also had auto-lock on the phone before I updated in iTunes (which could be an issue - but I now can't take the auto-lock off because I can't even to the *#307# bit with call on hold to get to the contacts and settings)
to all people with OSX 10.4 make sure you are using the proper binary for that version of the os

can anyone tell me why when i load this into my phone the only one problem i have is my yahoo mail stops working correctly
the only problem i had was with the advanced options...I was having issues with my wifi so I tried the fix wifi option and it killed my carrier info. but a bad battery and a trip to the genius bar got me a new phone and a new chance to jailbreak it all over again.
this time it worked.
