Thaks for the ultra quick "Heads up". I just used your program an hour ago and did an auto restore from itunes. It would have defaulted t o1.1.4 a few minutes later!

Oh the sweet agony, I just bought and unlocked (et al) my iPhone yesterday (just off to make a donation), and now Apple go and release an update.
So for people who've been doing this for awhile, what's the process for an activated+jailbroken+unlocked iPhone getting upgraded (in general, rather than 1.1.3->1.1.4 which is obviously far too new to comment)?

ZiPhone is wonderful. Its brilliant. It works flawlessly on every iPhone i've used with it (five, all capacities from 4 to 16). BUT, once you have released your update, PLEASE PLEASE shift your attention to the iPod touch problem. ZiPhone really needs no further tweaks once its fully compatible with the latest firmware. It doesn't need to be improved further, not by a long shot. iPod touch support, however, is a critical missing piece that really should be a PRIORITY. I hate to be so presumptuous as to tell you what to do, but I and a lot of my friends are always gritting our teeth whenever there is a ZiPhone update that wasn't needed that does not include iPod support. Please, please focus on getting this solved.
(PS: Being a minor, I lack the means to donate to you personally. But I did convince a friend to!)

dont upgrade, I have a few iphones and thought I just try it for fun.
after upgrading the phone is jailed, the modem still works and shows my local carrier, but iTunes asks me to activate it and I can make emergency calls only.

Hi all,
since today early in the morning my iphone doesn't work so fine.
Yesterday evening i had installed some features using "installer" and after that i watched some video on youtube. Then I left my iphone (1.1.3 OTB unlocked with ziphone) in sleep mode without turning it off.
Today someone called me and i was not able to hear anything: the iphone is mute, but actually he could hear me talking.
Also youtube doesn't work at all, and the ipod feature too!!! :(
Now I'd like to restore it with -e and -D option, but i've just noticed that 1.1.4 is coming out, so, i guess I can't! :(
How can I do it without let itunes upgrade my iphone to 1.1.4 and brick it?
Cheers Zibri, activated, jailbroke and unlocked my 1.1.3. OTB iPhone in about 4 mins. Worked without a hitch.
For those who DON'T want to downgrade their bootloader or are at all unclear about the process.
1. Download ZiPhone 2.4 GUI version an unzip to directory.
2. Open a command prompt at the directory.
3. Connect your iphone direct to your computer (don't use the iphone dock).
4. Type in ziphone -a -j -u. Press enter and let it work. WAIT.
Your phone is free.

My new 16gb iphone shipped from china this morning. Can anyone tell me how to tell what sw version is on the phone. I assume it will come with 1.1.3, but who know it might have 1.1.4 on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Ziphone fans, I'm sort of having an issue, I just jailbroke my iphone couple days ago and now what i have been noticing is when I want to go on "Youtube" all i'm is a response saying " Cannot connect to Youtube" addition to that problem is when i go to my "Mail" it giving me a response of "User and Password incorrect" so I have two functions going bad...Any Advice on how to get this back working ????

IS IT JUST ME OR DID 1.1.4 LOCK ME OUT OF MY IPHONE COMPLETELY? I just got this phone from ebay and it came with OTB 1.1.3. I decided to use ZiPhone but ran into a problem near the end of the hack. After that dilemma, I was like "okay, forget this." So I did a clean restore off iTunes and got 1.1.4. And NOW i am here with a device that does not let me use anything! I am completely locked out! I am here at the "slide for emergency" place. :[

used your 2.x version to u/j/a AND downgrade the BOOTLOADER from 4.6 to 3.9. now when irestore my iphone i have Phon eEnabled bu tnot activated, means i can make call with the emergency keypad on unactivated phones.
i hope that my new 3.9 BootLoader will not be limited in some way for future updates!

hey zibmeister, you kick ass i had bricked my iphone about a month ago using that crappy downgrading idea which sucks btw and I had to get it replaced at the apple store lucky me they didn't find out I hacked it so I was afraid to use ziphone at first but then I saw it was so easy so I tried it and it worked!!!! ( obviously, hence you kick ass )anyway the point is I really really really want to donate but I am only sixteen so is there a po box or mailing address I can send it to? It works fine on 4 Iphone I have tested (OTB 16 GO 1.1.13) but unfortunatly yesterday while trying to restore a stuck one I did pay attention that they were a new release 1.1.14 and I did the recover, so now I am stuck on the "slide for emergencie" as my phone is not activate anymore, So I will wait for your next release. If you need I can also perform some test for you.

why is there so many dummies upgrading their iphone to 1.1.4 when zibri clearly states that you must NOT upgrade...
just wait until the next ziphone app is released and some people have tried it...
the world doesn't fall apart just because there's an update for your iphone but you can't upgrade because there's not unlock for it yet....
just be patient and wait for a few days and always read all the text and FAQ and whatever info is out there before you upgrade! remember that there's always a small chance to brick your iphone. so get all the info you can get before doing something like that!
Nothing new in 1.1.4 software wise except for small SMS text re-ordering. Nice job with ziphone anyway.

My iPhone was put in recovery mode and when I restored it I thought it would be in 1.1.3 bc I thought that was the latest version. So while I thought it was on 1.1.3 I used ziphones program to jailbreak it. So now I have a jail broken iPhone 1.1.4 so what should I do? Just keep it?

I have OOb 1.1.3 and OOB 1.1.1 upgraded to 1.1.3
I have upgraded the 2nd one to 1.1.4 using iTunes and tried to unlock it with ZiPhone 2.4.
I know you have asked us all not to upgrade to 1.1.4 but i was willing to take risk and experiment.
After upgrading i have 04.04.05_G as modem firmware. Tried to downgrade bootloader (i know doesn't make sense since it is originally 1.1.1) Erase BL3.9 too .. still the modem firmware is 04.04.05_G.
I am willing to do some testing for you i am even ready to upgrade the other one. I will not hold you responsible for anything. Let me know if i can help you with some testing.

i have upgraded to v1.1.4 today used ziphone to jailbreak worked fine i seemed very fast to work this time with ziphone this must be due to not unlocking the phone just jailbreaking i am on contract so my iphone gets activated through itunes but i can confirm all is working fine and remember if your not on a contract wait for zibri to release the update or your lose out forever.

If you were not so naive when you downloaded ZiPhone - Zibri stated that the newer models with 1.1.3 (16GB/32GB) will -NOT- work with ZiPhone. So, instead of blaming ZiPhone for your mistakes, hold down the standby and home button at the same time. Restore your iPod and stop complaining about a feature that everyone knew didn't work.

Dude calm down, look all you have to do is (This will make iTunes Recognize Your iPhone):
Step 1:
Turn off your iPhone.
Step 2:
Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3:
When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4:
Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
This is called the DFU Mode, is basically makes iTunes think you phone is screwed up and iTunes WILL recognize your phone. Restore the phone and try jail breaking it again.

I have an 8GB iphone week 48, so it's 4.6 Bootloader and was 1.1.2 OTB. Currently the phone is Jailbroken and I'm using it via StealthSim.
1) If I do this update should I remove my StealthSim? Will I need it any longer?
2) I've upgraded iTunes to 7.6.1 and downloaded the 1.1.3 Firmware, should I option-click to Restore in iTunes? So that it will be directed to the 1.1.3 Firmware I've downloaded?
3) When I sync back with my iTunes, will all my original apps be there, or will I need to reinstall them via installerapp?

Let me try to sum up; and people let me know if I am incorrect or correct.
1) ZiPhone will both jailbreak and unlock an iPhone.
2) You can use ZiPhone to jailbreak only, if you on contract and don't need to unlock the sim.
3) ZiPhone seems to jailbreak 1.1.4 phones already, with no problems, but we are waiting for an official word and update from Zibri.
4) iJailbreak.com seems to have the same update schedule as ZiPhone, so is it correct that their gui software uses Zibris to do the dirty work?

But aren't you 'worried' that the guy who's running independence is almost done with the unlock as well (he already released the jailbreak&activation, of course they're both based on your ziphone) i know you're doing it for free and all, but so is he, and i'm thinking that you might like to be the first who offers an complete solution for unlocking, activating and jailbreaking 1.1.4

i just bought an 8gb iphone, jailbreaked it fine and was using it for few brilliant hours, then i stupidly upgraded to 1.1.4 and now my iphone seems knackered.
ive restored it using itunes but it still restores to 1.1.4, i tried holding down the option key but only 1.1.4 is available, when i jailbreak it again the phone stays in emergency mode after and ziphone reports an error; ERROR: ziphone returned 1...
will the new version of ziphone comin out in 3 days solve this problem?
if not, if i returned it to apple for a refund, could they tell it was previously jailbroken?
Any help from you guys would be awesome?

Hi, I updated to 1.1.4 by accident and have managed to downgrade and unlock 1.1.3 but can't use the anysim to unlock the phone. Everything is working eg: youtube, itunes.
the modem firmware says 04.04.05_G which I am guessing is the problem. If anybody can help me fix this asap please let me know.

Man don't worry, just open ZiPhone do the erase baseband and then put it in dfu (Deep) then do restore to 1.1.3 and it'll work.. but not as a phone, everything else it's ok except the modem cause 1.1.4 updates the damn firmware..

See I just got my iphone wich was issued by my company AT&T, yes yes I work for at&t and im a sells rep. My friends jailbreaked there phones and it its pretty cool. So to make it short i jailbreaked mine i got to crazy with it. i use to much memory so now my i phone wont boot up only the apple signal comes outand a little white thing going in cirlcles like if its loading then it just freezes. I have a windows laptop, any one know how can i delete files that i installed through installer? my phone has the newest version 1.1.3 Can someone please help me!

Hello, guys this is kind of emergency i have a flight tomorrow i need to fix my iphone, i downloaded 1.1.4 i messed up . i want to go back to 1.1.3 i downloaded the ziphone and i clicked Enter DFU mode, but it said open itnues and restore i did and same error again. any suggestions?

I was going to buy a new iphone untill 1.1.4 came out. Now there is an event an Apple on March 6, in which they may announce about some SKU. While I'm not sure what that is, could someone help..
Should I buy the iphone now(and risk losing out on a new one if there is, then maybe return it after refurbishing it) or wait for a week(and risk buying a bricked iphone which is hard to unlock); is this SKU useful anyway?
